Summary: The research findings show that green building can save a significant amount of energy and water resources compared to traditional buildings, thus reducing the cost per square meter. The cost-benefit ratio of green building is 2.35, justifying the increased costs of investment, maintenance, and renewals. These research results provide important decision-making support for policymakers, construction practitioners, and other stakeholders.

Summary: Aquaculture is a significant industry in Taiwan that contributes to the country's GDP. However, certain practices have caused environmental damage, and integrating aquaculture ponds with solar photovoltaic power has emerged as a promising option for sustainable development. Evaluating the costs and benefits of this integrated approach is crucial for shaping the future of the aquaculture industry. A comparative analysis shows that such integration can significantly reduce carbon emissions and other pollutants, providing substantial environmental and economic benefits.

Summary: Green roofs contribute to urban greening and adaptation to climate change, but their implementation potential is often not fulfilled due to lack of information and unified approach for economic assessment. This study compares the economic value of three green roof projects using different methods in Czechia and Portugal. The results show that the economic benefits of green roofs are 4 to 6 times greater than the costs.

Summary: Implementation of mass rapid transit systems can be costly in mid-sized cities, but technology can make existing surface rail vehicle-based transit systems interoperable, reducing infrastructure investments. Tram-Train (TT) is a potential solution that combines railway and tramway features with light railway vehicles. However, there is limited literature on TT and lacks detailed economic evaluations in mid-sized cities. This study fills this gap by conducting a cost-benefit analysis in Brescia, Italy, indicating the potential viability of an innovative interoperable transport system. It provides valuable evidence and guidance for policymakers and transit experts.

Summary: By evaluating the financial benefits of the investment project in power transmission and transformation of a power grid enterprise in Sichuan Province, it was found that the project is economically viable with stable operation indicators and increasing electricity sales. The internal rate of return of the capital is 17.13% and the payback period is less than 7 years. The application of fuzzy optimal BPNN for cost-benefit analysis showed fast training speed and good training effect, with results close to the expected values. Furthermore, the model demonstrated good generalization ability for similar investment projects.

Summary: Despite the carbon neutrality pledges made by various countries, the costs of these pledges and their comparison with economic benefits remain unclear. This study systematically estimates avoided heat-related labor productivity losses and compares them with the costs of climate change mitigation at country and regional levels. The findings show that by 2100, the overall economic losses due to heat-related labor productivity loss could range from about 1.5% to 0.1% of global GDP under different climate change scenarios.

Summary: The rate of municipal solid waste (MSW) generation in developing countries is continuously increasing in proportion to the gross national product. This study aims to analyze the MSW management activities in India's capital, Delhi, and the cost-benefit analysis of MSW management systems. The results show that only about 80% of the garbage generated in Delhi is collected and storage, collection, transportation, and recycling information were gathered from various departments. The study also reveals the potential for composting and bio-methanation of MSW with high organic moisture content.

Summary: This study aims to explore the attitudes of global thought leaders in healthcare professional education (HPE) towards cost and value research. The findings suggest that while cost research is considered important, it also comes with potential risks such as increased accountability and loss of autonomy. Many participants lacked economic literacy and felt that cost research did not align with their professional identity. Additionally, generating generalizable findings was seen as challenging due to the importance of context. This study contributes valuable insights for engaging educators and researchers in meaningful and relevant cost and value research in HPE.

Summary: This scoping review aimed to explore the state of evidence concerning cost capture within eLearning in health professions education. Despite a perception that eLearning is more cost-effective than face-to-face instruction, there is not yet sufficient evidence to assert this conclusively. Rigorous, repeatable data capture methods are needed to test eLearning cost-effectiveness and implement it with cost benefits over traditional instruction.
