Summary: Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are being used more and more in clinical trials due to their potential to improve the outcomes of treatment for various human diseases. Ensuring the quality of hESCs is crucial, and current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) guidelines are followed during the transport of embryos and the derivation of hESC cultures. This paper presents the derivation of three clinical-grade hESC lines that meet these criteria and demonstrates the development and validation of a system for manufacturing high-quality starting materials suitable for cell therapy according to cGMP.

Summary: The building sector has a significant impact on greenhouse gas emissions through energy consumption and resource utilization. In order to achieve decarbonization, energy renovation of buildings is crucial as it reduces operational energy consumption and avoids the environmental impact of new constructions. This study proposes a methodology to streamline the process of building energy modeling using open-access datasets, making large-scale evaluations more feasible.

Summary: This research optimizes fermentation modification and papain enzymes for manufacturing virgin coconut oil. Through experimentation, it was observed that the addition of crude papain enzyme (CPE) and longer fermentation time increased the yield of virgin coconut oil. The optimal conditions for maximum yield and quality were obtained with a mass of crude papain enzyme of 993.5 mg and a fermentation time of 60 h.

Summary: This study develops a highly effective acoustic stimulator working at -20 MHz to investigate the roles of acousto-mechanical stimuli in the differentiation of hESCs. Our results show that acoustic dose alters the expression of extracellular matrix and physiological activity-related genes, indicating that acoustic stimulation is an important tool in regulating the stem cells' differentiation processes in cell therapy.

Summary: In this study, hydroxyapatite derived from bovine bone was used to effectively remove norfloxacin antibiotic from an aqueous solution. The properties of hydroxyapatite were analyzed, and the optimal conditions for maximum removal were determined. The results demonstrated that hydroxyapatite is a viable alternative adsorbent for eliminating fluoroquinolone antibiotics during wastewater treatment.

Summary: The study analyzed the effects of adding micro-sized Al2O3 particles on the machining performance of titanium alloys, revealing a significant improvement in surface quality. Furthermore, the addition of Al2O3 powder in the PMEDM process led to lower surface crack density and improved conductivity, resulting in lower deep cavities and a more uniform surface.
