Summary: The study aimed to investigate the influence of PSAS branches on the sizing properties of corn starch, leading to the development of a new starch-based size. Results showed that S-g-PSAS exhibited improved adhesion, viscosity stability, desizability, and film properties compared to HS, with enhancements in bonding forces, viscosity stability, and film properties at higher grafting ratios. This suggests potential for S-g-PSAS as a sizing agent for cotton and viscose fibers.

Summary: Water pollution requires sustainable materials for green treatment solutions. This study successfully extracted nanocellulose from microalgae through alkaline treatment, bleaching, and hydrolysis without TEMPO-mediated oxidation. The effects of acid concentration on nanocellulose properties were studied and the maximum yield was achieved using sulphuric acid with a concentration of 60%(v/v). The extracted microalgae nanocellulose was incorporated into carboxymethyl cellulose/sodium alginate beads, significantly increasing methylene blue adsorption capacity and achieving a high dye removal percentage.

Summary: An environmentally friendly hydrogel adsorbent (DEC@GEL) was successfully prepared by a simple free-radical polymerization method, exhibiting abundant functional groups and porous structures. Batch and multisystem adsorption experiments were conducted to investigate the adsorption properties of various dyes in wastewater, revealing consistent kinetics and isotherms with the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir model, respectively. The maximum adsorption capacities of the four tested dyes were higher than many reported adsorbents. Moreover, DEC@GEL demonstrated high reusability, selectivity, and potential for practical industrial applications.

Summary: In this study, a macroporous monolithic sponge based on polyethyleneimine (PEI) was developed using the ice-templating method and used as an adsorbent for dye removal. Both batch and continuous operations were studied, and the adsorption performance was modeled using Langmuir/Freundlich isotherms for static operations and the Adam-Bohart/Thomas model in packed-bed column experiments. The adsorbent showed excellent physiochemical characteristics, outstanding selectivity for anionic dye, ease of regeneration, and high adsorption performance in both batch and continuous studies.
