Summary: The study on the remains of a pre-Hispanic population on Gran Canaria Island revealed that they relied on agriculture from the 7th to the mid-14th century, but seafood was a significant part of their diet near the coast. Oxygen isotope compositions indicated a decrease in air temperature by about 5 degrees Celsius.

Summary: The study reconstructed past climates and vegetation changes in eastern China over the last 1200 years using organic geochemical evidence from the Xiyaohu peatland. It identified three climatic periods, with sub-stages within the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) and Little Ice Age (LIA), and linked warm and humid conditions to increased solar irradiance and El Nino activities, while cool and dry climates were related to reduced solar irradiance and La Nina activities.

Summary: Quantitative climate reconstructions were effectively generated from Late Holocene fossil pollen records from the Zemu glacier in North Sikkim, using the transfer function model. The model was developed through a modern pollen-climate calibration set and redundancy analysis, with mean annual precipitation and mean temperature of the warming month as the strongest influencing climatic variables. Proxy data in the form of fossil pollen records were analyzed and compared to regional and hemispheric climate reconstructions, capturing past global climatic events such as the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age.

Summary: Excavations at Natural Trap Cave (NTC) in Wyoming have revealed a diverse steppe fauna that existed during the Last Glacial Maximum. This study provides correlations between different stratigraphic schemes used in previous excavations and establishes an age-depth model to understand the spatiotemporal relationships between strata, paleoenvironmental proxies, and fossil assemblages. The research also suggests that sediment accumulation in the cave was discontinuous and that there were significant changes in depositional circumstances during interglacial periods.

Summary: This study presents geomorphic analyses, geochronology, and paleoseismic trenching data to document the rupture history of the Cheraw fault over the past 19 ka and evaluate slip rate changes over the past 200 ka. The results show evidence of multiple surface rupture events and suggest a possible response to rapid erosional unloading and/or a limited paleoseismic history for the Cheraw fault.

Summary: This study uses stratigraphic data to investigate sediment storage time scales in Mid-Atlantic river corridors, finding that pre-European settlement deposits and legacy sediments make up the majority of accumulated sediments, while modern sediments are less abundant. Summary: Natural Trap Cave in Wyoming has trapped and preserved a variety of North American fauna, providing insights into faunal dynamics and ecological changes in North America. Summary: Paleoclimate records across the Intermountain West region of North America show significant regional variation in timing and magnitude of wet conditions. Well-dated records in the Plains of San Agustin in New Mexico reveal two major lake oscillations, coinciding with the Last Glacial Maximum and Heinrich Stadial 1. These cycles align with other records in the southwestern US, indicating a south-shifted cool season storm track during the Last Glacial Maximum and deglaciation. The transition from lake to groundwater discharge conditions in the Bolling-Allerod period shows wet meadows in the lower sub-basin and marsh and open lake conditions in the upper and middle sub-basins.
