The findings indicate that the coalition had strengths in membership diversity, high participation and engagement, improved communication, and learning opportunities. However, challenges such as a lack of resources and social context barriers were also identified. Overall, the study provides important lessons for addressing nutrition-related health disparities in marginalized communities.

Summary: Industrialization has changed human lifestyle significantly, moving work and leisure activities indoors with the use of artificial light. Disruption of circadian rhythms due to weakened environmental cues like light and feeding may contribute to metabolic dysfunction and increased rates of global obesity. Research indicates that living in more urbanized areas and having higher variability in activity-rest rhythms is associated with an increased risk of being overweight or obese.

Summary: This study examined the associations between perceived stress, eating behavior, and abdominal obesity, focusing on gender differences. The results showed that higher stress levels were associated with lower dietary variety scores in women. Lower scores were positively correlated with consumption of grains and refined grains but negatively correlated with consumption of fruits. Among women, higher consumption of grains and refined grains was associated with an increased risk of abdominal obesity, while higher consumption of fruits was associated with a decreased risk. These findings suggest that psychosocial stress may contribute to abdominal obesity through its interaction with eating behavior.
