Summary: This paper introduces a PDCA cycle to analyze and reduce variability in value streams. It divides the value stream into stable and unstable zones, and applies measures to reduce variability in the unstable zones, with the goal of gradually turning them into stable zones and extending the sustainable implementation of lean practices. An IT system is developed to acquire, process, and visualize the data, providing structured information for experts and management to reduce production variability.

Summary: This study investigates the application of value stream mapping (VSM) in the supply chain of an e-commerce retailer on Amazon. By visualizing the entire supply chain with VSM, waste produced during the delivery process was identified. The root cause of the waste was found using the five whys method. A scoring method was developed to evaluate and compare different supply chain logistic models. It was shown that the methodology could improve supply chain management efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost reduction.
