Summary: Nanoscale proteinosomes were fabricated through molecular recognition between CD-BSA and adamantyl group anchored at the junction of a thermoresponsive block copolymer. The self-assembly of two PDEGMA copolymers into polymersomes led to the formation of miktoarm star-like bioconjugates. These bioconjugates self-assembled into proteinosomes above their LCSTs, maintaining the secondary structure and esterase activity of BSA. The proteinosomes showed low toxicity and could deliver doxorubicin into 4T1 cells.

Summary: Amphiphilic copolymers containing superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic segments were designed and synthesized, showing different molecular aggregation structures and thermal stability. The polymeric film of P(FA-C-8-ran-MAPS) exhibited strong oleophobicity under both air and water conditions.

Summary: This study describes a biocompatible platform of double hydrophilic graft copolymers based on poly(2-alkyl-2-oxazoline), which can form stimuli-responsive self-assemblies. The copolymers showed self-assembly behavior in aqueous solution, forming spherical structures. In addition, the copolymers exhibited temperature-responsive behavior.

Summary: The study on liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) of proteins through Monte Carlo simulations reveals that LLPS is influenced by factors such as sequence distribution, sticker fraction, and chain length. The normalized sequence charge decoration (SCD) parameter can predict whether a protein will undergo macroscopic phase separation or finite aggregation. Results show that at sufficiently long chain lengths, most sequences are likely to undergo phase separation.

Summary: By intrachain photo-cross-linking of azobenzene-containing amphiphilic linear block copolymer precursors, photoresponsive liquid crystalline SCJNPs were constructed and their self-assembly behavior in solution was investigated. Non-spherical assemblies were obtained, including lamellae and tubes, under the effect of the liquid crystal driving force. Additionally, photoinduced morphological transformations were observed for assemblies with different azobenzene contents.

Summary: Self-assembly of dilute sequence-defined macromolecules is a complex phenomenon with a dependence on the sequence. In this study, supervised machine learning was used to accurately predict the morphology of aggregates formed by these macromolecules. High-throughput screening was also demonstrated to identify suitable sequences for self-assembly.

Summary: The copolymer sequence is a novel tool to control system properties. This perspective explores copolymers with partially segregated sequences, including gradient copolymers, copolymers with random sequences, and those with controlled sequences. The review focuses on the effects of chain sequences on the microscopic behavior of polymer chains, as well as the application of data-driven methods (artificial intelligence and machine learning) in copolymer chain sequence design.

Summary: The study presents a unified scaling relation to describe the combinational structure of BCP surface micelles in two and three dimensions and reveals their formation mechanism. It introduces a concept of excluded volume-dependent scaling exponent based on the scaling theory of 2D polymers to investigate intrinsic scaling relations in a surface pressure-free environment. Additionally, an extrinsic scaling relation is derived for surface pressure-dependent corona scaling.

Summary: This study compared the effects of polymers with different hydrophobicity on cell membrane protection. It was found that although polymers with higher hydrophobicity showed stronger binding to liposomes, both types of polymers exhibited similar cell protection efficacy in the LDH assay. These results highlight the importance of considering additional factors when targeting enhanced membrane protection.

Summary: In this study, the self-assembly of a multiblock copolymer melt was investigated under the confinement of nanopores. Different multi-strand helical structures were successfully predicted by tailoring the copolymer architecture. The results showed that these helical structures are mainly stabilized by the unique ability of the specific architecture to relieve the packing frustration of the majority blocks.
