Summary: In order to meet the increasing food demand of the growing world population and reduce the environmental impact of agrochemicals, the development of smart nanoformulation is crucial. This study focuses on the development of dual stimuli responsive alginate based microgels for controlled release of agrochemicals and soil remediation. The microgels, prepared using functionalized alginate and a crosslinker, showed sustained release of the herbicide diuron in specific environmental conditions and demonstrated potential for sustainable agriculture.

Summary: In this study, a polymer (P407-CS(FA)-SS-CHO) with tumor targeting function and dual redox/pH sensitivity was designed and synthesized. The polymer can self-assemble in water to form micelles and solubilize paclitaxel (PTX). The PTX-loaded micelles showed triggered drug release behavior in response to acid and glutathione (GSH), and demonstrated excellent tumor growth inhibition efficacy and low systemic toxicity in vitro and in vivo. These findings suggest that the P407-CS(FA)-SS-CHO micelles have the potential to be intelligent drug carriers for PTX delivery.

Summary: Active protection coatings have been developed to mitigate the corrosion of metallic substrates by encapsulating and releasing corrosion inhibitors through responsive particles. Coatings prepared with polymer-inhibitor conjugates, featuring acetal and immolative disulfide linkers, show higher anticorrosion performance than single-responsive polymers. Unlike previous conjugates, the release of inhibitors can be activated not only by a change in pH value but also by a change in electrochemical potential.

Summary: In this study, a nutrient-delivery system based on a pH-responsive wood scroll was designed for targeted delivery of nutrients to the intestine. The wood scroll allows for storage, protection, and controlled release of nutrients, ensuring higher bioactivity and prolonged release in the intestine. The system was successfully demonstrated with probiotics, tea polyphenols, and rapeseed oil, showing its potential for customized nutrient management. This structurally controlled strategy offers a promising approach for enteric nutrient delivery using readily available and biocompatible biomass materials.

Summary: In this study, pH/redox dual-responsive mixed polyprodrug micelles (MPPMs) were prepared for enhanced anticancer drug delivery. The MPPMs showed reasonable size and uniform dispersion, and exhibited pH and redox responsiveness. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that these MPPMs effectively released the drug and inhibited tumor growth, resulting in improved therapeutic efficacy.

Summary: In recent years, various redox-responsive drug delivery systems have been developed to prevent premature drug release and reduce toxicity in cancer treatment. This paper proposes the utilization of AS1411 aptamer's spatial structure as a nano-gatekeeper on MCM-41 mesoporous silica, creating a redox-responsive drug delivery system. The results show that this system can achieve controlled drug release and provide new insights for related research.

Summary: In this study, a series of vitamin E-based TPGS-poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)-b-poly(3-vinyl benzaldehyde) block copolymer micelles were synthesized, and the anticancer drug DOX was loaded within the micelles. The micelles demonstrated potential as drug delivery systems for cancer treatment, with pH-responsive characteristics. However, increasing the hydrophobic block polymerization degree reduced the cytotoxicity of the micelles.

Summary: Conjugated block copolymers consisting of poly(phenyl isocyanide) (PPI) and polyfluorene (PF) segments are synthesized via one-pot sequential polymerization of monomer 1 and monomer 2. These copolymers exhibit distinctive optical properties and fascinating chiral self-assembly behavior due to the helical conformation of PPI segment and pi-conjugated structure of PF segment. Furthermore, the self-assembled helical nanofibers display excellent circularly polarized luminescence performance.
