Summary: Three new microporous mixed-ligand MOFs (PUM310, PUM310Me(2), and PUM310CO) were synthesized through solvothermal reactions between bis-pyridine-bis-amide ligands and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. The structural characterization revealed polycatenated frameworks with truncated Zn-paddle wheels, and solvent removal resulted in framework rearrangement and shrinkage. The MOFs exhibited fluorescence in the solid state, and the optical spectra indicated efficient Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) between the ndca(2-) donor and bis-pyridine acceptors, particularly in PUM310CO.

Summary: This manuscript reports the fabrication of metallo-supramolecular hydrogels using btp-functionalized star PEG precursors. Compared to previous linear systems, this method is more easily accessible and yields stronger hydrogels. The gelation is induced by Ni2+ ions and strongly depends on the metal-ligand ratio and polymer concentration.

Summary: Homoleptic tungsten(0) arylisocyanides exhibit photophysical and photochemical properties comparable to archetypal ruthenium(II) and iridium(III) polypyridine complexes. By systematically varying the arylisocyanide ligands, it is possible to modulate the photophysical properties of these complexes while maintaining high optical performance.

Summary: Bent (hetero)allenes, such as carbodicarbenes and carbodiphosphoranes, have diverse applications in coordination chemistry as neutral C-donor ligands. N-Heterocyclic diazoolefins function similarly to L-type ligands, and in this study, the synthesis and reactivity of anionic diazoolefin are described. The anionic diazoolefin displays distinct reactivity, allowing for the preparation of diazo compounds via protonation, alkylation, or silylation. It can also be employed as an ambidentate, X-type ligand in salt metathesis reactions with metal halide complexes, resulting in the formation of a stable phosphinocarbene through the extrusion of dinitrogen.

Summary: In this article, the successful molecular engineering of Ru bis-acetylides to form a gelator in aromatic solvents is reported for the first time. The self-assembly of bulky Ru bis-acetylides into lamellar structures in benzene, toluene, and xylenes was confirmed by SEM, leading to gelation of the solution. The main driving force for the self-organization was found to be hydrogen bonding, with VT-NMR and SAXS suggesting different stacking modes for the pro-ligand and the complex.

Summary: The N-nitration of 2,6-diamino-3,5-dinitropyrazine (ANPZ) resulted in the synthesis of a sensitive and energetic compound, N,N'-(3,5-dinitropyrazine-2,6-diyl)dinitramide. This compound was further stabilized by synthesizing dipotassium and diammonium salts. Compound 3 exhibited a three-dimensional energetic metal-organic framework (3D EMOF) structure with outstanding overall performance, while compound 4 had acceptable thermal stability and good calculated performance of detonation.

Summary: pH-dependent self-assembly and structural transformation were observed in a series of porous In(III)-MOFs, with different pH values leading to structural diversities. NXU-1, with excellent stability, showed higher selectivity in CO2 adsorption compared to NXU-2 and NXU-3, due to the presence of abundant multiple active sites as revealed by theoretical calculations.

Summary: In this study, a new stable lanthanide-based metal-organic framework (MOF) was successfully assembled, demonstrating strong red fluorescence emission and sensitivity for pH and folic acid detection. The MOF was also used as a fluorescent material for fingerprint identification. Additionally, mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) based on the MOF showed comparable fluorescence emission to the MOF itself and exhibited good selectivity and recyclability for folic acid sensing.

Summary: Nature offers a variety of transient interactions, which have inspired the introduction of different supramolecular assemblies in synthetic materials to achieve biomimetic functions. Metal-ligand coordination, as one of the most commonly used transient bonds, plays a crucial role in the design of robust and stimuli-responsive metallo-supramolecular polymer networks (MSPNs). However, the coordination geometry of the metal complex is often overlooked, despite significant advancements in controlling the spatial configuration of supramolecular coordination complexes (SCCs). This article classifies existing reports on the coordination geometry of MSPNs and reviews relevant self-sorting mechanisms of SCCs, highlighting the potential of coordination geometry as a new design parameter in polymeric systems.
