Summary: The study found that AF rotors are mostly distributed in relatively weak and much more heterogenous LGE areas, mainly around the pulmonary vein antrum in patients with persistent AF. LGE-entropy and LGE-volume ratio are effective indicators for evaluating the LGE properties of AF rotors.

Summary: This study quantitatively analyzed the relationship between ablation parameters and tissue lesion following pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) at different segments of pulmonary vein (PV) using LGE-CMR. The results showed that tissue lesion on the posterior wall of PV was more severe than on the non-posterior wall when similar ablation parameters were applied. LSI was a better index to reflect tissue lesion quality at the non-posterior wall of PV.

Summary: This study evaluated the predictive value of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging for prognosis in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. The results showed that patients with LGE on CMR had a significantly increased risk of ventricular arrhythmias and all-cause mortality.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the predictive value of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging for prognosis in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. The study found that patients with LGE on CMR had a higher risk of ventricular arrhythmias and all-cause mortality compared to those without LGE. In addition, the presence of biventricular LGE was associated with a significantly increased risk of ventricular arrhythmias.

Summary: A free-breathing LGE cardiac MRI approach was developed to improve the detection and quantification of atrial scars. It provided high-spatial-resolution dark-blood and bright-blood images, resulting in better image contrast and scar quantification compared to conventional methods.

Summary: This study investigated the predictive value of septal scar patterns in patients with VT from an anteroseptal substrate. Results showed that patients with larger septal LGE volumes and full-length septal LGE were associated with higher rates of VT recurrence after catheter ablation, compared to patients with partial septal LGE. Preprocedural imaging may help substratify this patient population for better treatment outcomes.

Summary: TIC is a reversible subtype of cardiomyopathy that can be distinguished from DCM using CMR. TIC patients have smaller cardiac dimensions compared to DCM patients, while LGE is more common in DCM.

Summary: This study proposes a method to obtain phase-resolved late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) images using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. The method involves three steps and has been evaluated in phantom imaging, healthy subjects, and patients. The results demonstrate reliable imaging in the phantom and healthy subjects, while the imaging resolution and noise resilience in patients are lower compared to the reference technique. The proposed technique shows potential in integrating the advantages of phase-resolved cardiac magnetic resonance with LGE imaging, but further improvements are needed for clinical use.

Summary: This study evaluated the relationship between atrial fibrillation and left ventricular late gadolinium enhancement in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The results showed that late gadolinium enhancement in the mid inferior interventricular septum was an independent predictor for atrial fibrillation occurrence in these patients. Combining late gadolinium enhancement in the mid inferior interventricular septum and enlarged left atrium improved the prediction of atrial fibrillation.

Summary: This study evaluated a manual method of measuring cardiac MRI e' as a measure of diastolic dysfunction in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The results showed that cardiac MRI e' correlated with LGE and other feature tracking measures of diastolic function. It was also found to be an independent predictor of LGE >= 10% and diastolic dysfunction.

Summary: The study found that scar entropy and %LGE are both independent risk indicators of ventricular arrhythmias in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients. A high scar entropy may indicate an arrhythmogenic scar, which could be valuable for clinical assessment of ventricular arrhythmias in these patients.
