Summary: The time taken for semen collection is associated with semen quality. A longer collection time is linked to poor semen parameters including volume, concentration, motility, and morphology. Among those undergoing assisted reproductive technology, there is a higher risk of miscarriage with longer collection time. This study highlights the importance of efficient semen collection in assessing male fertility.

Summary: This longitudinal study found that there is an association between dietary patterns and later obesity phenotypes among Chinese adults. The traditional southern dietary pattern was negatively associated with the development of obesity, while the traditional northern dietary pattern was positively associated. These findings can guide the development of evidence-based preventive nutrition interventions to control the obesity epidemic.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether prior testicular torsion is associated with testicular function in young men from the general population. The results showed no differences in semen parameters between men who had experienced testicular torsion and controls. However, subtle alterations in reproductive hormones were observed, with higher FSH and lower inhibin B levels in men with prior testicular torsion. Follow-up studies are needed to assess any long-term consequences for fertility.

Summary: This study demonstrated that PD-L1-positive circulating tumor cells (CTCs) can serve as a predictor of treatment response to PD-L1 inhibitors and are associated with disease control rates. Dynamic changes in PD-L1-positive CTCs during therapy were found to be predictive factors of immunotherapy response and prognostic factors of disease control.

Summary: This study investigates the relationship between the expression of programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) on circulating tumor cells and the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The results show that PD-L1 expression on circulating tumor cells is not correlated with PD-L1 expression in primary tumors. However, patients with PD-L1-positive circulating tumor cells have a higher disease control rate during treatment with programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors. The study also suggests that changes in circulating tumor cell numbers and PD-L1-positive circulating tumor cell counts can be used to monitor therapeutic response.

Summary: This study investigated the presence of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patients with penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) and found that CTCs can serve as a valuable marker for differentiating PSCC from other tumors. Additionally, CTC analysis can be used for noninvasive monitoring of disease progression and prognosis, and may have a potential role in preventing overtreatment.

Summary: The study demonstrated that dextrose prolotherapy shows promising treatment results for IC/BPS, reducing bladder instability, frequent urination, improving glycosaminoglycan layer regeneration and bladder wall thickness, along with significantly enhancing CD44 receptor expression. Additionally, it reduced treatment frequency over time and improved EGF levels while reducing HGF, PIGF-1, and VEGF-D levels in patients with IC/BPS. The modulation of growth factors and cytokines suggests potential tissue remodeling effects.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the existence of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) and their predictive potential for response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). CTCs were isolated from blood samples of MIBC patients and identified as tumor origin. Patients were divided into disease control (DC) and progressive disease (PD) groups based on NAC response. In the DC group, the number of CTCs significantly decreased after four NAC cycles and were highly correlated with postoperative pathological T stage. CTCs may serve as a valuable predictive marker for NAC response in MIBC.
