Summary: This study aimed to identify factors predicting the probability of serious fetal acidemia in placental abruption. The study found that abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, uterine spasms, and low maternal fibrinogen concentration are significantly associated with the occurrence of serious fetal acidemia.

Summary: This study conducted a genome-wide epistasis study of COVID-19 severity and identified three significant interactions between different genes. The most significant interaction was found between rs9792388 upstream of PDGFRL and rs3025892 downstream of SNAP25, indicating a possible molecular mechanism by which SARS-CoV-2 affects the nervous system.

Summary: The Genome-Wide Association Study analysis on 216 Duroc pigs identified nine significant SNPs associated with Aplasia cutis congenita (ACC). The study also revealed the presence of two quantitative trait loci on SSC 5 and SSC13. Further annotation of candidate genes within a 1 Mb region surrounding the significant SNPs identified a total of 11 candidate genes on SSC5 and SSC13.

Summary: Grain chalkiness is a crucial factor influencing the market value of rice. This study identified 34 QTLs associated with grain chalkiness in 450 rice accessions through a genome-wide association analysis. Four candidate genes were identified as potential targets for molecular breeding to improve rice quality. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the genetic basis of grain chalkiness and provide gene resources for quality improvement in rice through molecular breeding.

Summary: This study conducted a genome-wide association study to identify candidate genes associated with white, black, and spotty plumage in domestic ducks. The results showed that two non-synonymous SNPs in MC1R were significantly related to black plumage, while three SNPs in MITF were associated with white plumage. The epistatic effect between MC1R and MITF genes was also observed. These findings highlight the importance of epistasis in plumage color variation in ducks.

Summary: Placental abruption, a rare perinatal complication, involves the separation of the placenta from the uterus lining before childbirth, posing serious consequences and a high risk of maternal and fetal mortality. Disruption of immunological processes on the maternal-fetal interface plays a crucial role in the pathophysiology of this condition, requiring further research to fully understand this complex process.

Summary: In this study, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted on 8 traits of 150 cotton germplasms using resequencing data. The results showed that 18 SNPs were significantly correlated with cotton yield traits under drought conditions, while 8 SNPs were significantly correlated with the traits related to yield. Transcriptome data analysis identified four highly expressed genes after drought stress. qRT-PCR confirmed that these genes had the same expression pattern in samples with extreme drought tolerance. This study provides a theoretical basis for genetic analysis and breeding improvement of cotton yield traits under drought stress.

Summary: In this study, the genetic basis and molecular mechanism regulating seed shape in wax gourd were investigated. The results revealed that a single gene, BhYAB4, controlled the seed shape with bilateral dominant to unilateral. The G/A single nucleotide polymorphism variation of BhYAB4 was associated with seed shape determination, and a molecular marker was developed for distinguishing between bilateral and unilateral seeds. This research provides valuable insights for molecular marker-assisted breeding of wax gourd cultivars.

Summary: In this study, association mapping was conducted to study four forage yield traits in sorghum, and dynamic transcriptome expression profiling was used to identify genes related to growth and development. Weighted gene correlation network analysis revealed gene modules significantly correlated with the traits. Candidate genes were identified through the integration of genome-wide association studies and RNA sequencing.
