Summary: Studies show that red blood cells play a crucial role in vascular homeostasis and lysophosphatidic acid can induce the production of extracellular vesicles in red blood cells. Different LPA species have varying effects on red blood cells through targeting LPA2 and/or LPA3 receptors, with LPA 16:0, 18:0, and 18:1 inducing phosphatidylserine exposure and release of vesicles.

Summary: Autotaxin (ATX) is a key enzyme in lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) production, and the ATX-LPA axis plays a critical role in tumorigenesis. Clinical data analysis revealed a negative correlation between ATX and EZH2 expression in colon cancer. Our study identified ATX as a novel PRC2 target gene silenced by EZH2, and cotargeting EZH2 and the ATX-LPA-LPA2 axis may be a potential combination therapy strategy for colon cancer.

Summary: Metabolic profiles of primary thymic and in vitro-derived mouse and human thymocytes were investigated using transcriptomics and extracellular flux analyses in this study. The study found that core metabolic pathways, such as glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation, undergo dramatic changes during thymic T cell development, and in vitro T cell development mirrored the metabolic activity changes observed in primary thymus.

Summary: Autotaxin plays a crucial role in cancer development by promoting cell proliferation, migration, and survival through producing LPA, as well as increasing the expression of inflammation-related circuits that impact patients' prognosis. ATX is considered a potential therapeutic target for cancer, with a number of ATX inhibitors currently developed.

Summary: Despite progress in treating T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), the prognosis for adult T-ALL remains poor. Anlotinib, an oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor used for lung cancer, has shown promise as an anti-T-ALL drug. Comprehensive in vitro and in vivo studies were conducted to investigate the mechanisms underlying anlotinib's effects on T-ALL.

Summary: This study demonstrated that the novel drug ASK120067 exhibited potent anti-tumor activity against B-/T-cell malignancies by targeting BTK/ITK. It inhibited the phosphorylation of BTK and ITK, induced apoptosis in B-lymphoma cells, and caused growth arrest in T-cell leukemia cells. Oral administration of ASK120067 also led to significant tumor regression in xenograft models.

Summary: This study reveals the antibacterial activity of quercetin against uropathogenic Serratia marcescens by inhibiting the production of biofilms and other virulence factors. Quercetin influences cell metabolism and extracellular polysaccharide synthesis, leading to cell membrane damage. In vivo experiments show that quercetin prolongs the lifespan of infected Caenorhabditis elegans and reduces the colonization of Serratia marcescens.

Summary: Non-DCs have been found to enhance the activation and expansion of antigen-specific CD8+ T cells mediated by DCs, without impairing the NK cell responses in vitro and in vivo. This provides a rationale for further clinical translation of the CD34+-derived DC-complete vaccine in hemato-oncology patients post alloSCT.

Summary: This review discusses the pathophysiological mechanisms by which microorganisms disrupt the airway epithelial barrier by targeting intercellular contacts between epithelial cells. It also presents recent progress in understanding signaling pathways involved in the formation and regulation of cell junctions. Potential chemical inhibitors and pharmacological approaches to restore the integrity of the airway epithelial barrier are summarized.
