Summary: This study examined the antioxidant activities of green-synthesized pure zinc oxide and doped zinc oxide using aqueous leaf extract of Ziziphus mauritiana. Machine learning models were used to accurately predict the photoantioxidant activities based on input variables such as dopants, crystallite size, lighting condition, and antioxidant concentration. The results showed that doping and lighting condition had a significant impact on the photoantioxidant activities of the materials, with Mg doping and lighting condition having the highest weights according to the artificial neural network models.

Summary: The development of multicellular organisms relies on cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) that connect cells for tissue formation. The immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF), one of the largest families of CAMs, plays diverse roles in synapse formation, spermatogenesis, leukocyte-endothelial interactions, and epithelial cell-cell adhesion. TMIGD1, a member of IgSF, regulates various functions in epithelial cells and is crucial for suppressing malignant cell behavior. This article reviews the molecular characteristics of TMIGD1, its interaction with cytoplasmic scaffolding proteins, the regulation of its expression, and its downregulation in colorectal and renal cancers.
