Summary: This study examined the influence of labels on chocolate from different regions and found that consumers prefer chocolate from economically developed regions, perceiving them to have better taste and are willing to pay more. Additionally, origin labels can significantly increase taste evaluations and willingness to pay for chocolate, even when it is from developing regions. Therefore, providing origin information is important for enhancing food evaluations.

Summary: The aim of this study was to examine Finnish consumers' preferences and willingness to pay (WTP) for measures to improve broiler chicken welfare. The results suggested that Finnish consumers tend to have a positive WTP for improvements in farm animal welfare in broiler production, although WTP varied by consumer segment.

Summary: Despite increasing consumer concerns about animal welfare and safe food, the consumption of pork in Italy is still on the rise. A study conducted in Messina province found that around 47% of consumers were willing to pay extra for pork produced in farms that adhere to specific animal welfare standards.

Summary: Polysaccharides have diverse applications, particularly in food water treatment where polysaccharide-based flocculants have gained significant attention. Two environmentally friendly flocculants, DEPL and Dex-PL, were developed by incorporating flocculating active groups into the dextran molecular chain via cross-linking and esterification. Characterization of the prepared product was performed using various analytical techniques. The flocculation efficiency of both flocculants exceeded 96% in kaolin suspension, and Dex-PL achieved 91.4% clarification efficiency in sugarcane juice. Furthermore, biodegradation experiments indicated the enzymatic hydrolysis capability of the product.

Summary: This study measures the influencing factors behind public willingness to participate in eco-compensation in China's Taihu Basin using a contingent valuation method and a random forest model. The main results show that factors such as recognition of the importance of watershed protection, the impact of the watershed environment on people's lives, annual incomes, and perceived improvements to the watershed environment over the past five years significantly influence willingness to pay.

Summary: When eliciting consumer preferences for controversial products, it challenges the conventional assumptions that all individuals derive positive utility from consumption. This study addresses this issue by comparing the differences and similarities between WTP and WTA elicitation methods. The findings suggest that neither method fully discovers the true valuation range, but the policy implications are consistent.

Summary: This study found that incorporating 10 phr of spent coffee biochar can improve the composites' tensile properties and thermal performance, but delays vulcanization time. Biochar significantly affects the morphology of composite films, while there is no substantial difference in compounds with biochar and CB based on FTIR analysis.

Summary: The aim of this paper is to develop a model for understanding the factors that influence consumers' willingness to pay for eco-labelled food products. Using the Theory of Planned Behaviour, this research examines how consumers' awareness of eco-labels, environmental concerns, beliefs in the environmental ability of eco-labels, and presence of children impact their willingness to pay for eco-labelled food products. The study analyzes data from 333 online responses using structural equation modeling and PROCESS macros. The findings indicate that consumers' environmental concerns and eco-label awareness have a partially mediated effect on their willingness to pay for eco-labelled food products through their belief in the environmental ability of these labels. Furthermore, the presence of children in the household moderates this relationship. This study highlights the importance of consumers' belief in the environmental ability of eco-labels and suggests that communication strategies should be refined to provide more information about eco-labels and emphasize their environmental benefits, especially for consumers with children in the household.

Summary: In this research, silk fiber dyeing using dye extracted from spent coffee grounds (SCGs) with different metallic and natural mordants was conducted. The color strength and parameters of the dyed silk fabric samples were evaluated, and wash and light fastness were also tested. The results showed that the metal mordants had higher color strength compared to the bio-mordants. Among the methods and mordants used, pre-mordanting with pinecone led to the highest color strength, while post-mordanting with pinecone provided the best wash and light fastness.

Summary: In this research, dye was extracted from spent coffee grounds and used to dye silk fiber with different metallic and natural mordants. The results showed that metal mordants produced higher color strength, while bio-mordants could be a substitute for metal mordants. Among the methods and mordants used, the pre-mordanting method with pinecone mordant yielded the best results.
