Summary: This study in Vietnam investigated the prevalence and risk factors of HPV infection among MSM, finding a significant association between high-risk HPV infection and risky sexual behaviors. A targeted HPV vaccination strategy would provide substantial benefits for this population in Vietnam.

Summary: This study examined the adherence to weekly anal self-examination among MSM and found that they adhered well to this practice. Therefore, it is feasible to make it a routine practice among MSM. Future studies should investigate possible reductions in adherence over time and explore ways to increase medical review for abnormalities that men find.

Summary: A study in Brazil found that men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW) are highly vulnerable to anal sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The study evaluated 141 participants and found that 79.4% of them had at least one STI, with HIV infection being particularly common among MSM and bisexual men. Lower income, multiple sexual partners, and use of sexualized drugs were identified as predictors of higher STI risk.

Summary: This study examines condomless anal intercourse (CAI) among men who have sex with men (MSM) in India. The findings indicate a high prevalence of CAI and highlight the importance of partner-level characteristics such as unknown partner HIV status and substance use. Interventions targeting substance use, education, and self-testing are urgently needed to reduce HIV transmission in this high-risk population.

Summary: The study found that HIV-negative MSM in China have a high willingness to receive HPV vaccination, and willingness to vaccinate is closely related to knowledge of HPV infection and vaccines, risk perception, and vaccine promotion attitude. Strengthening health education, raising awareness of HPV infection and vaccines, and promoting risk perception of HPV infection among MSM will help increase their willingness for HPV vaccination.

Summary: This study on HCV transmission among MSM in Amsterdam showed that most transmission clusters were introduced between the late 1990s and early 2010s, with no new clusters introduced after 2012. The proportion of unclustered sequences of subtype 1a fluctuated over time, increasing from 0% in 2012 to 50% in 2018. The rise in external introductions of HCV infections among MSM in Amsterdam in recent years, despite high DAA uptake, suggests that international collaboration is necessary for effective local microelimination efforts.

Summary: Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) college students in China face unique sexual health challenges, including a higher risk of HIV infection and limited access to LGBTQ-affirmative sexual health support. This study explores their perceptions and attitudes towards sexual health resources and the challenges they encounter. The findings highlight the importance of developing LGBTQ-affirmative sexual health programs for GBMSM college students in China.

Summary: This study investigated the spatiotemporal clustering of MPox cases in men who have sex with men (MSM) worldwide using retrospective space-time analyses method. The findings revealed that Spain was the most significant cluster, with 11 secondary clusters identified in 46 countries. These results provide important insights for current and future control strategies of MPox and the identification of spatiotemporal distribution of new and emerging infectious diseases.

Summary: Based on data from San Francisco, this study estimates that HCV incidence among men who have sex with men and inject drugs will decrease by over 80% from 2015 to 2030, achieving the WHO elimination target. This decline is largely attributed to high HCV testing and treatment, despite COVID-19 related disruptions.

Summary: This study investigated the incidence of cytologic abnormalities in men who have sex with men (MSM) and found that there was no significant difference in the incidence between HIV-infected and uninfected individuals. However, the persistence of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV), age, and condomless receptive anal sex were identified as predictors for abnormal cytology.

Summary: Black MSM are disproportionately affected by HIV due to high rates of racial homophily in sexual networks. Structural racism contributes to this homophily, and objectification by non-Black men may reinforce it. These findings have implications for HIV prevention and future research.

Summary: The RAS family of small GTPases is commonly activated in human cancers and has been found to have different prevalence and co-occurrence patterns with other genes in a cancer lineage-dependent and context-dependent manner. Multiomic analyses of tumor data revealed distinct gene expression programs and clinical outcomes in RAS-mutant tumors, highlighting the potential for targeted therapies and immunotherapy. The findings provide insights into the genetic architecture and therapeutic vulnerabilities of RAS-mutant tumors.
