Summary: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are abundantly expressed in boar testes and exhibit dynamic changes during testicular development. They are mainly involved in regulating spermatogenesis, cilia motility, and hormone biosynthesis, which indicates their potential as molecular markers for breeding of elite boars and evaluating developmental status of boar testes.

Summary: The study compared strength and muscle mass evolution in male and female swimmers of different ages. It found significant differences in strength and muscle mass among different pubertal stages in boys but not in girls. Therefore, grouping boys based on pubertal development levels rather than chronological age may be a more effective strategy.

Summary: This study investigated the secular trend of intelligence test scores among young Danish men born between 1940 and 2000, and found possible associations with changes in family size, nutrition, education, and intelligence test score variability. Results demonstrated an increase in mean IQ scores from individuals born in 1940 to those born in 1980, followed by a decrease. Factors such as family size, height, and education were found to explain a significant proportion of the variance in mean intelligence test scores among the birth cohorts of 1940-1980.

Summary: This study assessed the agreement between FELS and Tanner-Whitehouse II skeletal ages in male youth soccer players from the Middle East. The results showed a mean difference of 0.02 years between the two methods, with a range of -1.39 to 1.43 years for the limits of agreement. The findings suggest that there may be differences in skeletal age determination between FELS and Tanner-Whitehouse II methods in youth Middle Eastern athletes.

Summary: The study tested the hypothesis that variability in reproductive response to melatonin treatment in young Border Leicester rams in spring is related to sexual maturity at the time of treatment. Results showed that melatonin treatment can reduce variability in age at sexual maturity in spring mating, associated with differences in sexual behavior, testicular growth, testosterone concentrations, and sperm quality.

Summary: Research findings show that adult tomcats have higher epididymal sperm concentration and better sperm morphology compared to post-pubertal tomcats, but there is no significant difference in testicular and epididymal mass, spermatogenesis, and other sperm traits between the two age groups.

Summary: The study assessed the reproductive biology of male brown banded bamboo sharks by examining morphological and histological changes in the reproductive tract and testosterone levels in the gonads. Four sexual development stages were identified, with variations in testicular structure and sperm production at different stages. Testosterone concentrations were found to peak in active males and decrease significantly in resting males, indicating a correlation between hormone levels and reproductive tract morphology.

Summary: The study examined the experiences of university-aged women with online male-perpetrated sexual harassment, finding that most women received sexually inappropriate messages on online platforms and chose to ignore or delete the content as a response. However, some men persisted with the harassment, leading to women deleting their social media accounts in some cases. The results suggest a need for early intervention and education programs to address this issue.

Summary: This study compares the sexual abuse histories and depressive symptoms between different age groups of sexual and gender minority (SGM) male survivors. The results show that older SGM men have lower rates of adult sexual assault, exposure to other traumas, and depression. However, there are no differences between the older and younger groups in childhood sexual assault, frequency and number of attackers for adult sexual assault, frequency of other injury traumas, or occurrence and frequency of mental health treatment. Trauma load, including childhood and adult sexual assault, is more strongly related to current depressive symptoms than age group.

Summary: This systematic review examines the association between hostile masculinity and male-perpetrated sexual aggression toward women. The review finds broad support for this association and suggests that prevention efforts should focus on modifying hostile masculine characteristics among men. However, the review also highlights the need for a uniform conceptualization and operational definition of hostile masculinity.

Summary: Adult sex ratio (ASR) is crucial for population management, but its impact on population dynamics is still not well understood. This study investigated the effect of biased ASR on reproductive success in a decapod crustacean. The results showed that an increase in the proportion of males in mating groups led to a decrease in the number of eggs carried by females. This negative effect of ASR was observed at the population level when considering spawning success. Additionally, a male-biased ASR was found to reduce genetic diversity in the population. These findings highlight the importance of considering ASR in population management strategies.

Summary: Sexual violence is a serious concern in the U.S. military, with limited research on the risk factors for sexual aggression perpetration. This study evaluated the applicability of the Confluence Model of Sexual Aggression among young adult men in the U.S. Army. Surveys completed by 326 male soldiers revealed that hostile masculinity and tendency toward impersonal sex were associated with greater perceived likelihood of sexual aggression. The findings help identify those at risk and inform prevention efforts.

Summary: The study found that a majority of male medical students consume pornography frequently, while only 7.3% of female students do so. It also revealed that students who were inspired by pornography and those who have had experiences such as anal intercourse or threesomes tend to consume pornography more frequently.
