Summary: This study identified modern radiotherapy as a protective factor for xerostomia, while continued smoking, female sex, and lower education level were recognized as contributing risks. These findings need to be confirmed in prospective studies and can inform targeted interventions for managing radiation therapy-related xerostomia in oropharyngeal cancer patients to preserve their quality of life.

Summary: This study evaluated the clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction of alloplastic breast reconstruction in a single institute in Taiwan from 2006 to 2020. The results showed that both single-stage and two-stage procedures had acceptable complication rates and good postoperative satisfaction based on patient-reported outcomes. Factors such as smoking and nipple-sparing mastectomy were identified as significant risk factors for complications. Precise patient selection and comprehensive discussion between patients and physicians were emphasized for achieving optimal aesthetic outcomes.

Summary: This study investigated the effectiveness of open and robotic-assisted transthoracic approaches for treating diaphragm paralysis and eventration, as well as their impact on the quality of life. The results showed significant improvement in dyspnea and fatigue symptoms after surgery, regardless of the surgical approach. Most patients also reported improved overall quality of life and exercise capacity.

Summary: The study found that the long-term use of G-CSF in early-stage breast cancer patients did not show significant associations with PROs and hematologic toxicity. Patients receiving G-CSF had slightly worse PROs at year-4, but the differences were of trivial clinical significance. There were no major differences in leukocyte or platelet count over time.

Summary: This study evaluates the outcomes of modified nipple-sparing mastectomy (m-NSM) in patients who underwent immediate breast reconstruction (IBR). The results show that m-NSM is associated with thicker mastectomy flap, lower rates of complications, better aesthetic outcomes, and improved quality of life for patients.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize long-term fatigue trajectories among breast cancer survivors. Three trajectory groups were identified for severe global fatigue, and it was found that different dimensions of fatigue were influenced by different factors. This helps identify patients at increased risk of severe fatigue and inform personalized interventions.

Summary: Survivors of autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation (AHCT) for multiple myeloma in stable remission do not have clinically meaningful worsening in physical functioning compared to the general population. However, they may experience distress related to health burden, uncertainty, and finances. Adherence to preventive care guidelines is high, but adherence to exercise and diet guidelines is relatively low.
