Summary: Radical cystectomy (RC) is the standard treatment for advanced bladder cancer, with preoperative factors including age, sex, clinical T stage, and psoas muscle Hounsfield units. Risk classification using these factors can predict the prognosis of patients after RC.

Summary: Molecular subtyping of muscle-invasive bladder cancer using immunohistochemistry showed that GATA3 and CK5/6 were significantly associated with survival outcomes. Patients with the mixed subtype had a significantly better 5-year overall survival, while those with the double-negative subtype had the worst prognosis.

Summary: There is conflicting evidence regarding the use of early radical cystectomy (eRC) for high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. This study compared the perioperative and oncological outcomes between upfront and delayed eRC. The results showed similar perioperative outcomes between the two groups, but an increased risk of upstaging after upfront eRC, which did not impact survival. Further research is needed to determine which patients might benefit from upfront eRC.

Summary: The study found that radical cystectomy (RC) has better treatment outcomes in terms of overall survival and cancer-specific survival compared to trimodal therapy (TMT). Unless patients cannot tolerate or have a strong desire to preserve the bladder, RC should be chosen over TMT in treatment.

Summary: In this study, the comparative effectiveness of radical cystectomy (RC) and trimodality therapy (TMT) for muscle-invasive bladder cancer was evaluated using observational data. The results showed no statistically significant difference in overall survival (OS) between RC and TMT. However, when examining heterogeneity of treatment effects, RC appeared to be associated with improved OS only for patients with cT3 disease.

The nomogram showed better predictive capability compared to TNM stage, confirming the usefulness of LCR in clinical decision-making and personalized therapy.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of quantitative radiomics signatures in the detection of lymph node metastases in bladder cancer. By analyzing 1354 patients who underwent radical cystectomy, it was found that the diagnostic efficacy of radiologist-evaluated CT imaging studies is limited. The results showed that radiomics signatures can accurately discriminate lymph node metastases.

Summary: Interstitial photodynamic therapy (iPDT) mediated by 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) showed promising results in the treatment of glioblastomas, prolonging progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). The methylation status of MGMT promoter was found to be the dominant factor affecting prognosis. After iPDT, a characteristic structure (iPDT remnant) appeared in the MRI data.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the methylation status of tumor-associated genes in patients with prostate cancer who underwent radical prostatectomy. The results showed that methylation status has the potential to be used as a diagnostic and predictive tool in prostate cancer. Specifically, hypermethylation of APC, RASSF1, TNFRFS10c, and RUNX3 were identified as novel PCa-specific biomarkers.

Summary: The management of ccRCC has changed rapidly with the introduction of ICIs, but many patients develop resistance to therapy. This study identifies shikonin as a promising combination partner with ipilimumab for the treatment of ccRCC, showing strong inhibitory effects on CSCs and activation of CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. Additionally, VCAM1 is identified as a potential immunotherapeutic target and novel CSC marker for ccRCC.

Summary: Through an observational study of bladder cancer patients, it was found that non-oncologic drug therapy has a certain impact on recurrence-free and cancer-specific survival. Polypharmacy, calcium channel blockers, and proton pump inhibitors have a negative impact on recurrence-free in patients who underwent radical cystectomy, while statins have a positive effect on recurrence-free in patients with a first diagnosis. Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and magnesium have a negative impact on cancer-specific survival in patients with a first diagnosis.
