Summary: In this study, we investigate the thermodynamic equilibrium spectra of the Charney-Hasegawa-Mima (CHM) equation under its weakly nonlinear limit. By exploring the influence of the third invariant, we find that the variety of equilibrium spectra in the CHM system is significantly enriched. We also characterize the singular limits of these spectra, where condensates occur, and show that they are associated with characteristic structures observed in CHM systems of finite size.

Summary: Waves propagating in a converging-diverging rf magnetoplasma with a bounded m = 0 helicon mode were studied, and the changes in axial plasma density, ArII blue-mode, and rf magnetic field were observed. The wave was found to satisfy the helicon dispersion relation and may be influenced by local wave resonances and a Venturi-like effect.

Summary: A unified theory of zonal flow shears and density corrugations in drift wave turbulence is presented, exploring the relationship between polarization and density advection excitation and modulational response. The study reveals that while the zonal eddy viscosity can go negative, the zonal diffusivity is positive definite, and there is no inverse cascade of density corrugation. The research also identifies the zonal cross-correlation, determines conditions for alignment of zonal shears and corrugation gradients, and discusses implications for staircase structure.

Summary: The resolution of 3D structure reconstructed by laboratory nanoCT is often affected by ambient temperature changes. Existing correction methods based on projection alignment are time-consuming and complex. In this study, a fast correction method named MD-Unet is proposed, which directly processes the reconstructed slices to improve correction performance. Experimental results show that MD-Unet significantly enhances the correction performance in nanoCT artifacts.

Summary: Quantum mechanical calculations were used to study the dynamics of a reaction in dense semi-classical hydrogen plasma, considering the interactions among charged particles and the effects of screening and quantum diffraction. The study computed various capture cross sections and found that they undergo considerable changes due to variations in Debye length and de Broglie wavelength.

Summary: The theory of low-frequency, long wavelength, electrostatic drift ion-acoustic waves in a nonuniform rotating magnetoplasma with two temperature superthermal electrons is investigated. In the linear limit, the coupling of these waves and drift waves by the density inhomogeneity generates a new wave mode that depends on the density gradient, rotational frequency, and spectral indexes of the superthermal electrons. In the nonlinear regime, an evolution equation for the drift ion-acoustic waves is derived, and its exact solitary and periodic wave solutions are obtained. Numerical analysis shows that these solutions are significantly influenced by the background density gradient, superthermality of electrons, and Coriolis force.

Summary: This study investigated the dynamics of spiral waves in the heart under the influence of negative filament tension and explored the elimination of spiral waves through high-frequency pacing. The source of arrhythmia was identified as elongated filaments with significant length compared to the heart wall thickness. Spiral waves were successfully eliminated through overdrive pacing with stimulation periods close to the spiral wave period, taking approximately 10 seconds for expulsion.

Summary: This study examines the impact of surface wave associated dynamics on the upper ocean under idealized hurricane forcing, using a coupled wave-circulation model. The results show that Langmuir turbulence has the biggest impact on upper ocean currents, temperature and TKE during hurricanes, and all considered wave effects contribute to vertical mixing. The wave dynamics should be included in hurricane forecast models, as they can alter the latent heat flux driving hurricanes.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of a BZT dense gas on the development of turbulent compressible mixing layers at different convective Mach numbers. Results show significant differences in momentum thickness growth rate and temperature variations between perfect gas and dense gas flows, with dense gas also affecting small scale dynamics. However, BZT effects themselves have a small impact on the mixing layer growth.

Summary: Understanding the physics of pellet ablation is crucial for efficient fueling in fusion reactors. Researchers have observed fluctuation structures in the pellet plasmoid during the ablation process, which propagate around the pellet across the magnetic field. By comparing the fluctuations with the calculated shape of magnetic field lines, they successfully reconstructed the spatio-temporal structure of the fluctuations. These fluctuations, driven by the inhomogeneity formed around the pellet, can affect the ablation and fueling processes.

Summary: This article revisits the phase and amplitude dynamics of the Hasegawa-Wakatani system and finds that a single resonant triad can saturate via phase locking, while non-resonant triads show similar behavior only when one of its legs is a zonal wave number. Additionally, the behavior of the resulting triad pair becomes more complex when an additional triad is included as a reflection.

Summary: This study establishes an improved motion equation of drift under wave action by coordinate transformation, considering the variation of submerged height and the pressure gradient, with the premise that the buoyancy is always perpendicular to the free surface. The rationality of the equation is verified through numerical solutions and experimental results. The study also analyzes the average longitudinal drift velocity expressed by Stokes drift velocity using the perturbation method and Lagrange tracking principle, as well as the effects of different forces on the longitudinal diffusive motion. The analysis of hydrodynamic coefficients impacting the prediction is also conducted.

Summary: This article presents a full-F isothermal gyro-fluid model and code, which extends to handle the self-consistent coupling of multiple quasi-neutral ion species. The model is used to study the interchange-driven 'blob' transport in a plasma with impurity content and the interaction between a main plasma species blob and a non-trace impurity cloud. The results show that for homogeneous impurity distributions, an increased effective mass reduces blob transport, while localized impurity clouds can either accelerate or slow down the propagation of the main ion species blob depending on the alignment of the impurity density gradient.
