Summary: Non-additive (or non-extensive) entropies have been extensively studied and applied in various scientific fields. The aim is to describe the commonly observed quasi-power distribution rather than exponential distribution in the full available space of variability. This work focuses on high energy multiparticle production processes and specifically discusses the Tsallis entropy as a form of non-extensive entropy. It explores unresolved issues and presents non-obvious consequences of non-extensiveness when applied to production processes.

Summary: This study focuses on refining the concept of Maxwell's demon to explore the limit of energy dissipation in open systems, uncovering a previously unexplored set of fluctuation theorems. These theorems reveal the existence of an intrinsic nonequilibrium state in the system, guided by nonnegative demon-induced dissipative information. The analysis suggests that the bounds of both work and heat in the system are tighter than previously predicted, and proposes a potential experimental test to verify these boundaries.

Summary: This paper introduces the concept of cyclic p-contraction pair for single-valued mappings and presents best proximity point results for such mappings defined on a pair of subsets in a metric space. Illustrative examples are provided to compare the results with some previous work. Finally, by considering a fixed point consequence of the main result, an existence and uniqueness result for a common solution of a system of second order boundary value problems is derived.

Summary: The study investigates entropy production rate induced by ciliary pumping systems in bio-magnetic viscous materials, considering the effects of Hall currents, Hartmann number, and cilia length parameters on flow characteristics. It is found that the inclusion of Hall current can overcome the damping effects of magnetic field and control the disorderliness of thermodynamic systems, while longer cilia lengths stimulate momentum transfer and promote pumping rates in the axial flow direction.

Summary: This paper first introduces the properties of fractional cumulative residual entropy (FCRE), and then extends cumulative residual entropy (CRE) to the case of conditional entropy, proposing fractional conditional cumulative residual entropy (FCCRE) and discussing its properties. The validity of these properties is verified using randomly generated sequences with different distributions. Additionally, the definition of empirical fractional conditional accumulative residual entropy is given, and it is proven that it can be used to approximate FCCRE. Finally, an empirical analysis is conducted on aero-engine gas path data, showing that FCRE and FCCRE can effectively capture complex information in the gas path system.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the omega-distance function defined by Kostic in proximity space and prove the fixed-point theorems of Matkowski and Boyd-Wong using omega-distance. We also provide examples to illustrate the novelty of our work. Furthermore, we characterize the Edelstein-type fixed-point theorem in compact proximity space and investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a second-order boundary value problem using the obtained Matkowski-type fixed-point results under certain conditions.

Summary: We study a strong limit theorem of delayed sums for Markov chains in bi-infinite environments by constructing a sequence of random variables with parameters. As a result, we obtain some important strong limit properties, including the generalized conditional relative entropy for Markov chains in bi-infinite random environment. The obtained results generalize the findings of Liu et al. (2015).

Summary: Research has shown that the efficiency of microscopic thermal engines can be enhanced by using active particles, but engines using run-and-tumble particles generally have lower efficiency than passive engines; however, when the protocol is time-reversed, the performance of microscopic refrigerators can be improved, and the coefficient of performance exhibits a non-monotonic variation with active force.

Summary: Work fluctuation theorems are significant achievements in nonequilibrium Statistical Physics, with recent interest in quantum regimes with generalized measurements. Studies show that in the framework of generalized measurements, the original form of the Jarzynski equality is not exact, but deviations are small and can deduce an approximate effective temperature of the thermal bath. In the limit of projective measurements, the exact form of work fluctuation theorems is recovered.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that the concatenation of simple heat engines may result in non-monotonic variations in efficiency and power. In this study, we investigate the effect of concatenating two stochastic heat engines with trapped colloidal particles. We find non-trivial effects and enhanced power output when the trap strength varies linearly with time.

Summary: At very small scales, thermodynamic energy exchanges like work and heat become comparable to the thermal energy of the system, leading to unusual phenomena such as transient violations of the second law. Using the framework of stochastic thermodynamics, the article explores the generic characters of such systems, providing an overview of basic concepts and actively pursued topics including the arrow of time, effect of information gain on the second law, explanation of the origin of life using Crooks theorem, and the thermodynamic uncertainty relations.
