We investigate the role played by the three-body DD pi dynamics on the near-threshold resonance X(3872) charmonium state, which is assumed to be formed by nonperturbative DD* dynamics. It is demonstrated that, as compared to the naive static-pions approximation, the imaginary parts that originate from the inclusion of dynamical pions reduce substantially the width from the DD pi intermediate state. In particular, for a resonance peaked at 0.5 MeV below the (DD)-D-0*(0) threshold, this contribution to the width is reduced by about a factor of 2, and the effect of the pion dynamics on the width grows as long as the resonance is shifted towards the (DD0)-D-0 pi(0) threshold. Although the physical width of the X is dominated by inelastic channels, our finding should still be of importance for the X line shapes in the DD pi channel below DD* threshold. For example, in the scattering length approximation, the imaginary part of the scattering length includes effects of all the pion dynamics and does not only stem from the D* width. Meanwhile, we find that another important quantity for the X phenomenology, the residue at the X pole, is weakly sensitive to dynamical pions. In particular, we find that the binding energy dependence of this quantity from the full calculation is close to that found from a model with pointlike DD* interactions only, consistent with earlier claims. Coupled-channel effects (inclusion of the charged DD* channel) turn out to have a moderate impact on the results.

Remarks on non-perturbative three-body dynamics and its application to the K K (K)over-bar system

Xu Zhang, Christoph Hanhart, Ulf-G Meissner, Ju-Jun Xie

Summary: A formalism is discussed for straightforward treatment of the relativistic three-body problem while maintaining the correct analytic structure. It is argued that sacrificing covariance for analyticity can be justified by considering different contributions in a hierarchy, in the spirit of effective field theory. The formalism is applied to the KK(K) over bar system, resulting in the emergence of a(0)(980) and f(0)(980) as hadronic molecules. All inelastic channels are turned off for simplicity.

Effective range expansion for narrow near-threshold resonances

Summary: In this paper, we discuss the general features of the effective range expansion, including the content of its parameters with respect to near-threshold states and the necessary modifications in the presence of coupled channels, isospin violations, and unstable constituents. As illustrative examples, we analyze the properties of the chi(c1)(3872) and T-cc(+) states, supporting the claim that these exotic states have a predominantly molecular nature.

Isospin-conserving hadronic decay of the Ds1(2460) into Dsπ+π-

Meng-Na Tang, Yong-Hui Lin, Feng-Kun Guo, Christoph Hanhart, Ulf-G. Meissner

Summary: The internal structure of charm-strange mesons D-s0*(2317) and D-s1(2460) is being extensively studied. Their narrow widths are due to their dominant decay through isospin-breaking hadronic channels. The decay of D-s1(2460) can also occur through hadronic final states with isospin conservation, but is strongly suppressed due to phase space limitations. By considering the Ds1(2460) as a D*K hadronic molecule, we find that the predicted partial widths and the pi(+)pi(-) invariant mass distribution are consistent with experimental measurements, and suggest possible ways to distinguish between the hadronic molecular and compact state pictures for the D-s1(2460)(+). Predictions for B-s1(0) -> B-s(0) pi(+) pi(-) are also made.

Chromopolarizabilities of fully heavy baryons

Xiang-Kun Dong, Feng-Kun Guo, Alexey Nefediev, Jaume Tarrus Castella

Summary: We calculate the chromopolarizabilities of the fully heavy baryons 52QQQ0 in the framework of potential nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics and find that it is 2.6 times the chromopolarizability of the quarkonium Q over bar Q with the same heavy quark flavor. This result provides an order-of-magnitude estimate for these quantities and their dependence on various factors like heavy quark mass and strong coupling constant. The implication of our findings is the possible existence of near-threshold states composed of pairs of fully heavy baryons.

Emergence of heavy quark spin symmetry breaking in heavy quarkonium decays

V. Baru, E. Epelbaum, A. A. Filin, C. Hanhart, A. V. Nefediev

Summary: Heavy-quark spin symmetry applies to the direct decay of heavy quarkonia, but can be overcome in the presence of multiquark intermediate states. The violation of HQSS can be balanced by the narrowness of the intermediate states, resulting in equal transition strengths into final states with different total heavy quark spins. Spin symmetry is restored when the mass of a heavy quark becomes infinite.

Do near-threshold molecular states mix with neighboring (Q)over-barQ states?

Christoph Hanhart, Alexey Nefediev

Summary: The past two decades have witnessed a renaissance in hadronic spectroscopy, thanks to extensive experimental research on exotic states in the spectrum of charmonium and bottomonium. These states have properties that deviate from predictions made by the quark model and they are found very close to the strong hadronic thresholds. This study discusses a possible mechanism for the formation of near-threshold molecular states, based on the strong coupling between compact quark states and a hadronic continuum channel.

Summary: We present a dispersive representation to account for the effects of rho-omega mixing in the eta' transition form factor, and analyze recent data to constrain the isovector part. Our results also help improve the evaluation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.

Coupled-channel approach to Tcc+ including three-body effects

Meng-Lin Du, Vadim Baru, Xiang-Kun Dong, Arseniy Filin, Feng-Kun Guo, Christoph Hanhart, Alexey Nefediev, Juan Nieves, Qian Wang

Summary: In this study, a coupled-channel approach is applied to investigate the charged tetraquark state T-cc(+) recently discovered by the LHCb Collaboration. The observed line shape in the three-body (DD0)-D-0 pi(+) channel is fitted to determine the parameters of the interaction. Special attention is paid to the three-body dynamics in the T-cc(+) and it is argued that considering both the pion exchange between the D and D* mesons and the finite D* width is essential for a self-consistent approach. It is found that the T-cc(+) is a hadronic molecule generated by the interactions in the D*D-+(0) and D*D-0(+) channels, with a compositeness parameter close to unity. Additionally, a predicted isoscalar D* D* molecular partner of the T-cc(+) is proposed under certain assumptions.

Is Z(cs)(3982) a molecular partner of Z(c)(3900) and Z(c)(4020) states?

V Baru, E. Epelbaum, A. A. Filin, C. Hanhart, A. Nefediev

Summary: An effective field theory-based coupled-channel analysis of e(+)e(-) annihilation data at BES III was performed, extracting poles responsible for the Z(cs)(3982) formation. Two scenarios were identified, providing similar mass distribution descriptions but differing predictions for the spin partners of Z(cs)(3982).
