Data from three experiments using the heavy-ion fusion evaporation-reaction Ar-36+Si-28 have been combined to study high-spin states in the residual nucleus Ni-60, which is populated via the evaporation of four protons from the compound nucleus Ge-64. The GAMMASPHERE array was used for all the experiments in conjunction with a 4 pi charged-particle detector arrays (MICROBALL, LUWUSIA) and neutron detectors (NEUTRON SHELL) to allow for the detection of. rays in coincidence with the evaporated particles. An extended Ni-60 level scheme is presented, comprising more than 270 gamma-ray transitions and 110 excited states. Their spins and parities have been assigned via directional correlations of gamma rays emitted from oriented states. Spherical shell-model calculations in the fp-shell characterize some of the low-spin states, while the experimental results of the rotational bands are analyzed with configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky calculations.

Summary: The MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR conducted a search for neutrinoless double-beta decay (0 nu beta beta) in 76Ge using modular arrays of high-purity Ge detectors operated in vacuum cryostats within a low-background shield. The arrays consisted of up to 40.4 kg of detectors, with 27.2 kg enriched to approximately 88% in 76Ge. Through these measurements, the DEMONSTRATOR achieved an accumulated active exposure of 64.5 kg yr. By achieving a world-leading energy resolution of 2.52 keV FWHM at the 2039 keV Q beta beta (0.12%), we established a half-life limit for 0 nu beta beta in 76Ge at T1/2 > 8.3 x 1025 yr (90% C.L.). This result provides upper limits on m beta beta ranging from (113-269) meV (90% C.L.), depending on the choice of nuclear matrix elements.

Summary: P-type point contact (PPC) high-purity germanium detectors are important in astroparticle and nuclear physics for their high performance. Analysis of data from the MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR has led to improvements in the analysis of PPC signals, addressing the issue of charge trapping and improving energy resolution. A modified digital pole-zero correction is presented, resulting in a 30% enhancement in energy resolution, and an alternative approach achieving similar results is also discussed.

Role of quasiparticle structure in ? decay of superheavy nuclei

Summary: We use the superfluid tunneling model (STM) to accurately calculate the half-lives of alpha decays of odd -A and odd -odd superheavy nuclei (SHN) with Z ?, 100 and A ?, 250, comparable to other contemporary models. The influence of the quasiparticle structure on the properties of alpha decay chains of odd -A SHN is examined using the STM. High-Q orbitals play an important role in defining the observed characteristics of the alpha-decay chains, and ambiguity in assigning alpha-decay chains to specific SHN may arise due to the quasiparticle structure.

Summary: Fifteen correlated alpha-decay chains starting from the odd-A superheavy nucleus 289Fl were observed, indicating the existence of parallel alpha-decay sequences and different spin-parity assignments in close-lying levels. The ground-state spin assignment was found to change between (285)Cn and (281)Ds based on observed coincidences and fine structure analysis. These experimental results provide a direct testing ground for theory and are compared with new nuclear structure calculations.

Summary: Flerovium isotopes (element Z = 114) have been produced and studied using an upgraded TASISpec decay station in Germany. Through fusion-evaporation reactions and analysis of correlated implantation, alpha decay, and spontaneous fission events, 29 flerovium decay chains were identified. Summary: Isomers with three- and five-nucleon-hole configurations have been established in 203Tl. The levels above the long-lived isomer have been identified through a delayed-prompt γ-γ coincidence measurement. Summary: The gamma-decay properties of an excited state in Al-26 at 6398.3(8) keV have been reexamined. The relative branching to the Al-26 ground state was determined to be 0.76 +/- 0.03 (stat.) +/- 0.10 (syst.), indicating a considerable increase in the production of cosmic gamma rays from Al-26 radioactivity.

Summary: In this study, decay signatures of metastable germanium isotopes were searched using MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR data. Contributions to the region of interest in energy and time were estimated and compared to measured data, showing good agreement. Different simulation frameworks were used to estimate the uncertainties of the predictions. These findings will contribute to future experimental designs and understanding of background.
