Summary: Rectal cancer treatment has advanced over the years, with surgery initially being the primary method. The addition of radiation and chemotherapy has improved postoperative treatments. Trials have shown the efficacy of neoadjuvant radiation or chemoradiotherapy, making them the standard choice for advanced cases. Total neoadjuvant therapy, delivering the entire course of treatment before surgery, has also shown promise. While targeted therapies have not shown benefit, immunotherapy may be effective in rectal carcinomas with mismatch-repair deficiency. This review provides a critical overview of significant randomized trials and discusses future trends in treatment.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical impact of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) on health outcomes in Korean patients with prostate cancer (PCa). The study found that RARP had a higher risk of overall mortality within 3 and 12 months compared to radical prostatectomy (RP). The RARP group in hospitals with the largest PCa surgery volume had higher mortality rates and more surgical complications than the total RARP patients. The study suggests that RARP may not be superior to RP, possibly due to increased robotic surgery in the elderly.

Summary: This study evaluated the accuracy and reproducibility of the Vesical Imaging - Radiological and Data System (VI-RADS) score for assessing the risk of muscle layer invasion in bladder cancer. The results showed that the VI-RADS system had high accuracy in demonstrating muscle-invasive bladder cancer, regardless of the use of a dynamic-contrast enhancement (DCE) sequence. However, there was a significant difference between readers in the assessment of small lesions using the biparametric analysis.
