Summary: The study investigated the effects of EGCG and TF1 on nematode temperature tolerance and their actions on mitochondria. Survival rates, MMP, and ATP content of nematodes treated with EGCG or TF1 at different temperatures were measured. Thermogenesis and function of ex-vivo mitochondria were analyzed. DARTS and RT-qPCR were used to identify targeted proteins. The results showed that EGCG and TF1 improved nematode survival under high and low temperatures, respectively. TF1 exhibited lower MMP and greater mitochondrial thermogenesis for cold protection. TF1 up-regulated gpi-1, pgk-1, acox-1.2, acox-1.3, and acaa-2 to compensate for energy loss, while EGCG up-regulated ctl-1, hsp-60, and enol-1 for thermoprotection.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the stability and bioavailability of EGCG in aqueous solutions and in vivo by preparing EGCG glycosylated arachin nanoparticles and EGCG glycosylated casein nanoparticles. The results showed that the DPPH scavenging activity of the nanoparticles was stable within temperature range of 25-70 degrees Celsius. EGCG enhanced the crosslinking effect of molecular particles in the glycosylation complexes solution. The glycosylated protein nanoparticles were stable to acid-base and enzymolysis in simulated gastrointestinal fluid.

Summary: This study delves into the precise impact and underlying mechanisms of EGCG on aged oocytes. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate EGCG's capacity to enhance the quality of aged oocytes. In vitro application of EGCG yields remarkable improvements, including heightened rates of first polar body extrusion, refined spindle morphology, enhanced mitochondrial function, and reduced oxidative stress. Besides, EGCG may enhance Arf6 expression through direct interaction in aged oocytes, consequently promoting the assembly of spindle-associated F-actin and mitigating the aneuploidy induced by the disruption of spindle F-actin. In addition, these positive outcomes are corroborated by enhanced fertility observed in aged mice, providing a therapeutic intervention to address fertility challenges associated with advanced age.

Summary: Dietary fructooligosaccharides (FOS) were found to increase the plasma concentration of EGCG in rats by preventing its auto-oxidation. Treatment with FOS resulted in a dose-dependent increase in cecal lactate levels and alterations in the abundance of Lactobacillus and Collinsella. Consequently, FOS contributed to the protection of EGCG from auto-oxidation and allowed it to be absorbed into the blood circulation.

Summary: This study evaluated the protective effect of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) on liver damage secondary to P. aeruginosa infection. The results showed that EGCG reduced liver function markers, improved histopathological changes, reduced oxidative stress and inhibited inflammation response. EGCG exerted its liver protective effect through regulation of multiple signaling pathways, providing a new therapeutic strategy for P. aeruginosa infection-related liver damage.

Summary: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that affect gene expression and are inappropriately expressed in various cancers. Recent research shows that phytochemicals like EGCG can modulate miRNAs and have potential anticancer effects. Targeting specific miRNAs with EGCG can regulate cancer-related processes and improve current cancer treatments.

Summary: In the past 15 years, research has shown the potential of investigating histone post-translational modifications and variants in clinical samples for discovering biomarkers and therapeutic targets in cancer biology. Mass spectrometry has emerged as a powerful tool for unbiased, comprehensive, and quantitative investigation of histones in clinical samples, with recent advancements in technology expanding its application possibilities. The 'bottom-up' strategy of analyzing short proteolytic peptides has shown success in clinical sample analysis, offering a promising approach for histone PTM profiling.

Summary: Glioblastoma (GBM) is a deadly tumor with high aggressiveness, heterogeneity, poor blood-brain barrier penetration, and resistance to therapy, emphasizing the need for new treatment targets. Research shows that LSD1 inhibition can penetrate brain tissue, exhibit anti-tumor activity in GBM TICs, and disrupt stress responses in cells, thereby reducing tumor aggressiveness.
