Summary: Pterostilbene (PTS) shows potential as a drug for treating gallbladder cancer by inhibiting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, inducing apoptosis, and reversing epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through PI3K/Akt signaling inhibition. Tumor xenograft models also demonstrate PTS's ability to inhibit tumor growth with low toxicity, consistent with in vitro data.

Summary: The study found that resveratrol can attenuate dapagliflozin-induced renal gluconeogenesis by activating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and suppressing FoxO1 activation. This discovery provides a new potential strategy for achieving better glucose-lowering effects with SGLT2 inhibitors in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Summary: Random skin flap transplantation is a commonly used technique, but ischemia and ischemia-reperfusion injury impair its effectiveness. Mediating autophagy may affect the survival of random skin flaps. Edaravone (EDA) promotes autophagy and angiogenesis, attenuates apoptosis and oxidative stress, thus improving the viability of random skin flaps.

Summary: PGAM5 has been found to be upregulated in gastric cancer (GC) and its overexpression promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of GC cells. PGAM5 also activates the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Inhibition of AKT reverses the effects of PGAM5 knockdown and inhibits GC cell proliferation. Overall, PGAM5 plays a critical role in promoting GC by activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Summary: This study found that brusatol has inhibitory effects on the proliferation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition process of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma cells, and promotes apoptosis in these cells through activating the PI3K/Akt pathway. The findings were further validated in animal models, demonstrating the potential therapeutic effect of brusatol on intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.

Summary: This study found that 7-dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR7) is upregulated in bladder cancer (BCa) and is associated with tumor grade and stage, resulting in poor prognosis. Further investigation revealed that DHCR7 overexpression promotes tumor cell proliferation, inhibits apoptosis, enhances invasion and migration, and induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in vitro and in vivo. DHCR7 deficiency significantly decreases tumorigenesis. These findings suggest that DHCR7 may serve as a potential molecular target for the diagnosis and treatment of BCa.

Summary: Gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM) is a premalignant condition of gastric cancer, and resveratrol plays a key role in reducing bile acid-induced GIM. Resveratrol can affect FoxO4 by activating it and decreasing CDX2 expression, thereby impacting phosphorylation of FoxO4 to reduce bile acid-induced GIM.
