Summary: Research shows that the success of community-based forest management depends on local enforcement, extraction pressures, and community support. However, many of these projects involve collaboration with non-state actors like NGOs and private corporations, who promote sustainability certification. This study in Tanzania uses satellite data and inter-organizational collaborative governance network data to assess the effectiveness of community-based forestry. The findings indicate that the composition and structure of collaborative networks have an impact on deforestation rates, highlighting the importance of investing in inter-organizational networks for sustainable forest conservation.

The results show that most physician assistants believe that certification helps them fulfill licensure requirements, update medical knowledge, and provide objective evidence of continued competence. However, older age, practicing in dermatology and psychiatry, are associated with less favorable views, while physician assistants from underrepresented in medicine backgrounds have more positive perceptions.
