Summary: A study on anaphylaxis in children found that cow's milk and hen's egg are the main triggers. Compared to hen's egg anaphylaxis, cow's milk anaphylaxis is characterized by a higher occurrence of respiratory symptoms and a lower occurrence of cardiovascular symptoms. The clinical profiles and treatment approaches differ between the two triggers.

Summary: Cow's milk allergy is the most prevalent type of food allergy among infants. There is a growing demand for more options for infant feeding, especially for the prevention and management of cow's milk allergy. Milk from other mammalian sources and proteins from plant sources have gained increased interest due to their potentially lower allergenicity.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic is the most challenging global health crisis of our times, with vaccination playing a key role in controlling the current situation. While there is debate about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines for allergic patients, current data suggest that even patients with allergies to cow's milk or other foods should receive the vaccine in a setting with treatments for anaphylactic reactions and under medical supervision.

Summary: Cow's milk allergy is the most common food allergy in infancy and early childhood, with recent increases in allergy rates possibly linked to limited microbial exposure and changes in gut microbiome composition. The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in the host's lifelong health.

Summary: Dietary advancement therapies (DATs) involve a range of approaches, including heated item ingestion, milk or egg ladders, and oral immunotherapy. These therapies aim to develop tolerance to specific allergens and are considered a shift from strict avoidance to active management. However, there is limited data on the safety and effectiveness of these approaches, and it is unclear if patient-specific factors influence their success.

Summary: The incidence of food allergies has increased worldwide in the past 20 years. Early introduction of allergenic foods has been shown to reduce the risk of allergies, but less is known about the introduction of cow's milk. Recent studies suggest that early introduction of cow's-milk-based formulas with intact milk proteins can reduce the risk of cow's milk allergy, while very early introduction followed by discontinuation may increase the risk.

Summary: The immunopathogenesis of cow's milk protein allergy is affected by industrial processing, leading to structural changes and increased allergenicity of milk allergens. Unprocessed fresh milk contains tolerogenic factors that are impaired by industrial processing.

Summary: Cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) is a common food allergy in infancy, affecting around 2% of children under 4 years old. Recent studies suggest that changes in gut microbiota composition and function can contribute to the increasing prevalence of food allergies. Probiotics, by regulating gut microbiota, have shown potential in modulating inflammation and immune responses, benefiting the management of pediatric CMPA. This review highlights the efficacy of probiotics in achieving tolerance and improving symptoms in CMPA patients.

Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and tolerability of a new heated cow's milk protein product in cow's milk allergic children. The results showed that 72% of the children tolerated the product, while some experienced adverse events. Skin prick tests and specific IgE levels may predict the tolerability of the product.

Summary: Oral immunotherapy with raw egg is effective in desensitizing children with persistent egg allergy, leading to increased tolerance to egg products and improved quality of life. Subjects with high baseline egg-specific IgE concentrations and sensitization to multiple egg allergen components benefit from prolonged treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the genotype/phenotype correlation in adult patients with C1-INH-HAE, finding minimal differences in clinical phenotype among those with different SERPING1 gene mutations, with a tendency for more severe phenotype in class III. Larger multicenter, international studies are proposed to confirm these findings and explore possible genotype/phenotype relationships further.

Summary: The study found significantly elevated FD levels in BSS patients, with a strong positive correlation between FD and age in BSS. While a positive correlation between FD and C3 was seen in C3G patients, no correlation was detected in BSS. Gene expression studies in BSS adipose tissue showed decreased CFD and C3 levels but elevated C5 transcript levels. This suggests that FD may serve as a reliable diagnostic biomarker for the pathophysiology of BSS.
