Summary: This study aims to investigate the impact of demographics and sinonasal comorbidities on the revision rate of functional endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis. The results showed that White patients had a significantly lower revision sinus surgery rate compared to non-White patients, including Asian, Black, multiracial, or other races.

Summary: This study compared the perioperative outcomes and morbidity between endoscopic direct access Draf 2a and angled access Draf 2a. The results showed that direct access Draf 2a, or Carolyn's window, removes the limitation of anteroposterior diameter and has comparable outcomes with angled access Draf 2a in terms of frontal sinus patency and surgical morbidities.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the presentation, outcomes, and barriers to care for White and non-White patients undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). The results showed that non-White patients had a higher proportion of undergoing ESS, and they came from areas with fewer resources and had insufficient medical insurance coverage.

Summary: This study aimed to describe the outcomes and major prognostic factors of patients with inverted papilloma of the maxillary sinus (IPMS) treated with trans-nasal endoscopic medial maxillectomy (EMMs). The results showed that EMMs tailored to the surgical insertion point can effectively control IPMS and reduce the risk of recurrence.

Summary: The study on long-term treatment outcomes in patients with primary diffuse type 2 CRS or eCRS receiving multimodal treatment showed that managing these conditions as inflammatory airway disorders can achieve long-term disease control and reduce symptom burden. Maintenance corticosteroid irrigations successfully self-tapered to disease activity in the examined population.

Summary: This study retrospectively evaluated 22 patients who underwent previous external craniotomies with subsequent frontal sinus complications and their treatment with endoscopic approaches. The study found that frontal sinusopathy can be a long-term complication following craniotomies, and that endoscopic management offers a valid solution with low morbidity, avoiding re-opening of the craniotomic access. Long-term follow-up in patients with history of opened and reconstructed frontal sinus is necessary for monitoring and evaluation.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of endoscopic sinus surgery versus dental treatment in patients with odontogenic sinusitis, as well as the healing time for patients undergoing combined ESS and surgical closure of chronic oroantral communication. The results showed a lower failure rate with dental treatment, but a shorter healing time when combined with ESS.

Summary: This review article aims to synthesize existing information in the specialized literature regarding the correlations between peri-implant diseases and maxillary sinusitis. The included studies reported a positive correlation between maxillary sinusitis and peri-implant infectious diseases, as well as other pathologies such as abscesses and foreign body reactions. Therefore, preventing infectious peri-implant diseases is crucial to avoid these complications.
