Summary: This review aims to investigate the complications, survival, recurrence rate, and outcomes of sinonasal ameloblastoma (SNA). The study found that SNA has similar histological features to gnathic ameloblastoma but presents different clinical characteristics. It may cause nasal cavity and sinus obstruction and primarily affects older patients. Treatment may involve excising a significant portion of the maxilla, requiring maxillofacial prosthetic rehabilitation.

Summary: This study examined the mutational profile of sinonasal mucosal melanoma, revealing the presence of NRAS and other key components and regulators of the Ras-MAPK signaling pathway in the majority of cases.

Summary: This study analyzed the epidemiology and clinicopathologic characteristics of melanoma patients in Northeast China. The study found that vascular invasion may be a prognostic factor in melanoma patients. Furthermore, there were significant differences in disease location, pathologic subtype, gene status, and survival prognosis between the population of Northeast China and Caucasian population.

Summary: Nail melanoma (NM) is a challenging differential diagnosis for patients with longitudinal melanonychia. Clinical and histopathological analyses are essential for accurate diagnosis, and surgery is the primary treatment. Targeted therapy and immunotherapy may be considered for advanced stages of NM.

Summary: The regional recurrence rate of sinonasal mucosal melanoma (SNMM) after primary treatment is considerable, warranting further prospective studies to determine the potential for recommending elective neck treatment in certain patient subgroups.

Summary: Myxofibrosarcoma is a rare malignant tumor that usually occurs in the limbs. This case series reports the first cases of myxofibrosarcoma in the sinonasal region, with distinctive vascular pattern and myxoid stroma. Surgical resection and radiotherapy were effective treatments in these cases, with low recurrence and metastasis rates.

Summary: A novel DEK-AFF2 fusion has been identified in sinonasal SCC with deceptively bland morphology. These tumors tend to progress locoregionally and occasionally develop metastases, high-grade transformation, or extensive local destruction eventually leading to death, justifying more aggressive clinical management. The proposed new terminology of DEK-AFF2 fusion-associated papillary SCC of the sinonasal tract better describes this distinct entity.

Summary: Frontal sinus involvement by malignant tumors is rare and requires further investigation to better understand its epidemiology, treatment options, and outcomes. This retrospective study and systematic literature review provide valuable insights into the subject. The study found that frontal sinus malignancies have a poor prognosis, and multidisciplinary management with histology-driven treatments is essential for improving outcomes and reducing morbidity.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the treatment outcomes of 107 SNMM patients and found a significant reduction in regional relapse rate with ENI, especially in relapses occurring in levels Ib and II. Further research is needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This article retrospectively collects and describes 6 cases of eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis (EAF) involving the orbit, and reviews a total of 31 cases. The study finds that EAF involving the orbit is relatively rare and usually results from extension from adjacent sinuses. Clinical symptoms commonly include nasal symptoms, proptosis, periorbital swelling, and pain. Surgical debulking and immunosuppressive agents such as rituximab have been shown to stabilize the disease.

Summary: Sinonasal cancers are rare and require surgery as the first step of the therapeutic strategy, possibly accompanied by adjuvant therapies. Surgical excision can be performed through open, endoscopic, or combined approaches, with the choice based on general and specific criteria related to tumor characteristics, patient status, and surgeon preference. This review provides an overview of surgical techniques for sinonasal malignant tumors, with a focus on recent advancements in transnasal endoscopic surgery, and discusses criteria for selecting appropriate techniques based on oncological outcomes, morbidity, and histologic subtypes.

Summary: Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare and highly malignant non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma. This study aims to explore the clinicopathologic features of IVLBCL and improve its diagnosis. Through the retrospective analysis of four new cases and literature cases, the study found that IVLBCL has variable clinical presentations, distinct histopathological characteristics, and specific immunophenotypes.
