Summary: A study on the influence of solvents and additives in enantioselective hydroamination/cyclization reactions showed that weakly coordinating polar solvents can increase reaction rates, while some additives can enhance enantioselectivity in cyclization reactions but decrease selectivity in hydroamination reactions.

Summary: In this study, solvent-directed intramolecular hydrofunctionalization of readily available o-alkynoylphenols was successfully achieved under reagent-free conditions. The strategy is remarkable for its regioselectivity, atom economy, and efficiency in terms of atom, carbon, and reaction mass.

Summary: An efficient and selective benzylic C(sp(3))-H addition of o-CH3-substituted tertiary aromatic amines to alkenes has been achieved using a scandium catalyst supported by an anilido-oxazoline ligand, providing an atom-economic method for the synthesis of a new family of alkylated tertiary anilines. A wide range of amine and alkene substrates are compatible with the catalyst system.

Summary: Chiral, cationic NHC-iridium complexes have been introduced as catalysts for the intramolecular hydroamination reaction of unactivated aminoalkenes, showing high activity and selectivity. By eliminating a major deactivation pathway, the efficiency of the reaction is improved. Through experimental and computational studies, valuable insights into the reaction mechanism have been gained.

Summary: Closed-shell phenalenyl (PLY) systems are increasingly attractive as building blocks for catalysts and electrode materials due to their ability to accept electrons and participate in redox reactions. In this study, a PLY-based dinuclear [FeIII2(hmbh-PLY)3] complex was synthesized and used as a cathode material in a H2O2 fuel cell, exhibiting exceptional power density compared to previously reported Fe-based complexes. DFT studies were performed to gain insights into the catalytic reduction of H2O2 by the Fe-center of the complex.

Summary: Salt-stabilized organozinc pivalates with OPiv-coordination exhibit significant counterion-effect, enabling an efficient cobalt-catalyzed 1,4-carbosulfonylation of 1,3-enynes with sulfonyl chlorides under mild conditions. Both aryl and alkyl zinc pivalates show higher reactivity compared to traditional halide-supported organozinc reagents, providing a convenient access to highly functionalized a-allenyl sulfones through cascade C-C/C-S bond formation. Additionally, late-stage modifications of drug-like compounds and facile transformations of the resulting allenes demonstrate the synthetic utility of this protocol.

Summary: In this article, a novel catalytic reaction using Pd(0) and Bronsted acid is reported for the synthesis of biologically important imidazolidinone-fused N-heterocycles through redox-neutral intramolecular N-allylation of indoles and pyrroles with alkynes. This atom-economical method is applicable to a wide range of substrates and eliminates the need for leaving groups or oxidizing agents commonly used in traditional allylation reactions.

Summary: Asymmetric total synthesis of (-)-javaberine A and its epimer was successfully achieved using two methods, including asymmetric hydroamination of N-methyl-2-(2-styrylaryl)ethylamine and Bischler-Napieralski cyclization. The target compounds were obtained through multi-step reactions, providing the antipode and C14-epimer of natural javaberine A.
