Summary: In this study, we systematically investigated the crystal structures of azaproline incorporated in homo- and heterochiral diprolyl peptides. Our findings show that the stereodynamic nitrogen in azaproline adopts the same stereochemistry as the neighboring proline residue. The analysis of crystal structures, as well as the NBO and DFT data, reveal the importance of n ->pi* interactions and proline ring puckering for stabilizing azaproline chirality.

Summary: This paper describes the synthesis of a storage-stable organosilicon modifier with a dioxaborolane-protecting group. It exhibits high reactivity and selective anti-Markovnikov addition in hydrosilylation reactions, yielding various structures of siloxanes. Deprotection of the modifier and its siloxane derivatives can be achieved under mild conditions using water, with yields up to 96%. The equilibrium between organosilicon derivatives of phenylboronic acids and cyclic six-membered boroxines was confirmed by H-1 NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. The application of siloxane derivatives of phenylboronic acids in Suzuki-Miyaura and Chan-Lam cross-coupling reactions was also studied. All synthesized compounds were characterized by NMR (H-1, B-11, C-13, and Si-29), IR spectroscopy, and high-resolution mass spectrometry.

Summary: Dibenzo[b,g]phosphindolizine oxide and three types of benzo[e]naphthophosphindolizine oxides were synthesized through ring-closing metathesis. Their molecular structures and properties were characterized by X-ray crystallographic analysis, UV-vis spectroscopy, and electrochemical analysis. The number and position of benzene rings were found to affect the structural geometry and energy levels, and their effects were investigated through theoretical calculations. Among the investigated phosphindolizine oxide derivatives, only benzo[e]naphtho[2,3-b]phosphindolizine oxide showed weak yellow fluorescence with a large Stokes shift.

Summary: This study presents an efficient method for synthesizing Zr-metal organic frameworks (Zr-MOFs) with incorporated organocatalytic moieties. The catalytic activity and selectivity of the MOFs were improved by adjusting the aperture of the cavities. The synthesis method involves anchoring difunctional chiral units onto the Zr-MOF using a mild synthesis approach to avoid racemization. The experiments confirmed the successful synthesis of Zr-MOFs with different pore sizes without disrupting the basic octahedral structure.

Summary: In this study, novel phenylahistin derivatives were designed and synthesized, and it was found that appropriate hydrocarbon and unsaturated alkenyl substituents are important for enhancing their activity. Compound 15p showed potent cytotoxic activity against human lung cancer cells at the nanomolar level, inhibited microtubule polymerization, and induced high expression of caspase-3. In vivo experiments demonstrated that compound 15p effectively inhibited the growth of H22 transplanted tumors with lower toxicity compared to standard drugs. These findings suggest that the novel phenylahistin derivatives could be safe and effective potential agents for cancer treatment.

Summary: The anionic complexes LSi(Cat(R))(2) were studied using quantum chemistry methods, and it was found that the substituents in the catecholate phenyl ring and the L group have weak influence on the geometry of the coordination environment of the silicon atom. The electron-withdrawing effect and the number of substituents in the catecholate ligands determine the ionization potentials. The formation of oxidized forms of the complexes is characterized by weakening of certain Si-O bonds and shortening of others. The analysis shows that one of the catecholate ligands is less sensitive to interaction with free radicals.

Summary: 'Double' donor-acceptor cyclopropanes containing a p-or m-phenylene moiety react with alkenes or dienes in the presence of GaCl3, forming gallium 1,2-zwitterionic intermediates, and the structure of the final products depends on the substrate. Unlike the para-or meta-isomers, the reaction of 2,2'-(1,2-phenylene)bis(cyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylate) does not involve alkenes and results in the formation of isomeric tricyclo[6.2.2.02,7]dodeca-2,4,6-triene-9,9,11,11-tetracarboxylate, a product of intramolecular rearrangement.

Summary: A series of hybrid halobismuthate solid solutions were synthesized and characterized. The substitution of bromine atoms with iodine atoms in the bridging positions of the anion was observed. The crystal lattice parameters and the optical band gap showed significant deviations from Vegard's law, and the substitution of iodine for bromine resulted in a decrease in the band gap value. Simulated structures confirmed that the substitution of bridging bromine atoms with iodine atoms was thermodynamically favorable.

Summary: Abiraterone acetate is a commonly used therapeutic agent for prostate cancer, but its poor solubility limits its effectiveness. In this study, d-metal complexes with Abiraterone acetate were obtained to improve its solubility and investigate its interaction with heme. The results showed that Abiraterone acetate can form stable complexes with dications and act as a bridge ligand in reactions with silver(I) nitrate. The bonding energies between Abiraterone acetate and these cations were found to be higher than those between metal atoms and water molecules.
