The (O -> Si)-chelate N'-(dimethylfluorosilylmethyl))-N'-methyl-N-(organosulfonyl)prolinamides RSO2-Pro-N(Me)CH2SiMe2F (2a-f, R = Me (a), Ph (b), 4-MeC6H4 (c), 4-ClC6H4 (d), 4-BrC6H4 (e), 4-NO2C6H4 (f)) were synthesized from the corresponding disiloxanes 1a-f using Et2O center dot BF3. According to the NMR and IR data, the extent of dimerization of fluorosilanes 2a-f in solution is negligible, while the O -> Si coordination in solution is weaker than that in the solid state. Comparative CP/MAS NMR and X-ray diffraction studies revealed that in solution the coordination Si-O bond length varies in a narrow range (2.22-2.24 angstrom) that is 0.02-0.11 angstrom longer than in the crystalline state. Dynamic NMR (DNMR) studies of the fluorides revealed a fine structure of the F-19 signals in the 0-20 degrees C temperature range, which was related to the structural features of the coordination set in these complexes. The temperature dependence of the SiMe2 signals in the H-1 DNMR spectra was attributed to a permutational isomerization process involving a positional exchange of equatorial ligands. The narrow range of activational barriers of the process (23-24 kcal mol(-1) and more) and high negative values of the entropy of activation are similar to those observed earlier for Si-substituted N-(dimethylsilylmethyl) and N-(methylphenylsilylmethyl) amides and lactams, which suggests similar permutational processes in all cases. Gas-phase quantum chemical studies demonstrate that the solvation of F- reduces the activation barrier.

Igor A. Zayakin, Alexander A. Korlyukov, Dmitry E. Gorbunov, Nina P. Gritsan, Anna Ya Akyeva, Mikhail A. Syroeshkin, Dmitri Stass, Evgeny Tretyakov, Mikhail P. Egorov

Summary: Gold(I) derivatives of nitronyl nitroxide (NN) stabilized by complexation with phosphine ligands were designed and synthesized to promote the dimerization of paramagnets in the solid state via Au-Au bonding. The properties of the complexes were characterized by various techniques and supported by quantum chemical calculations. The results confirmed the presence of Au-Au bonds in the complexes.

Electronic structure of substituted catecholate complexes of hexacoordinated silicon: a quantum chemical study

P. A. Buikin, A. V. Vologzhanina, D. E. Arkhipov, A. A. Korlyukov

Summary: The anionic complexes LSi(Cat(R))(2) were studied using quantum chemistry methods, and it was found that the substituents in the catecholate phenyl ring and the L group have weak influence on the geometry of the coordination environment of the silicon atom. The electron-withdrawing effect and the number of substituents in the catecholate ligands determine the ionization potentials. The formation of oxidized forms of the complexes is characterized by weakening of certain Si-O bonds and shortening of others. The analysis shows that one of the catecholate ligands is less sensitive to interaction with free radicals.

Summary: A series of new DBMBF2 compounds and their methoxy-substituted derivatives linked by flexible diphenylsiloxane linkers of various length have been synthesized. Their structure and optical properties were investigated using different techniques, revealing the emission behavior of the compounds in different solvent environments. The formation of intramolecular excimers was influenced by the polarity of the solvent and the length of the linker. It was observed that emissions close to white light can be achieved in certain solvent environments.

Gallium trichloride-mediated reactions of 'double' donor-acceptor cyclopropanes with alkenes and dienes

Daniil A. Knyazev, Maria A. Belaya, Alexander D. Volodin, Alexander A. Korlyukov, Roman A. Novikov, Yury V. Tomilov

Summary: 'Double' donor-acceptor cyclopropanes containing a p-or m-phenylene moiety react with alkenes or dienes in the presence of GaCl3, forming gallium 1,2-zwitterionic intermediates, and the structure of the final products depends on the substrate. Unlike the para-or meta-isomers, the reaction of 2,2'-(1,2-phenylene)bis(cyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylate) does not involve alkenes and results in the formation of isomeric tricyclo[6.2.2.02,7]dodeca-2,4,6-triene-9,9,11,11-tetracarboxylate, a product of intramolecular rearrangement.

Unusual isostructural Br/I substitution effect on the crystal structure and optical properties of hybrid halobismuthates

Vitalii Yu. Kotov, Ivan S. Lunkov, Petr A. Buikin, Sergey Yu. Kottsov, Alexander A. Korlyukov, Alexander Yu. Rudenko

Summary: A series of hybrid halobismuthate solid solutions were synthesized and characterized. The substitution of bromine atoms with iodine atoms in the bridging positions of the anion was observed. The crystal lattice parameters and the optical band gap showed significant deviations from Vegard's law, and the substitution of iodine for bromine resulted in a decrease in the band gap value. Simulated structures confirmed that the substitution of bridging bromine atoms with iodine atoms was thermodynamically favorable.

Abiraterone Acetate Complexes with Biometals: Synthesis, Characterization in Solid and Solution, and the Nature of Chemical Bonding

Petr Buikin, Anna Vologzhanina, Roman Novikov, Pavel Dorovatovskii, Alexander Korlyukov

Summary: Abiraterone acetate is a commonly used therapeutic agent for prostate cancer, but its poor solubility limits its effectiveness. In this study, d-metal complexes with Abiraterone acetate were obtained to improve its solubility and investigate its interaction with heme. The results showed that Abiraterone acetate can form stable complexes with dications and act as a bridge ligand in reactions with silver(I) nitrate. The bonding energies between Abiraterone acetate and these cations were found to be higher than those between metal atoms and water molecules.

Calcium-based coordination polymers from a solvothermal synthesis of HKUST-1 in 3D printed autoclaves

Petr Primakov, Gleb L. Denisov, Valentin V. Novikov, Olga L. Lependina, Alexander A. Korlyukov, Yulia Nelyubina

Summary: The solvothermal synthesis in a 3D-printed autoclave made of commercial polypropylene resulted in a mixed-metal 1D coordination polymer [CaCu(HBTC)2(H2O)8], which served as a source of calcium ions leaked from a colorant and promoted by glacial acetic acid. The experiment also successfully produced a new calcium-based 1D coordination polymer [Ca(H2BTC)2(H2O)5]n under the same solvothermal conditions without copper or calcium salts in the autoclave.
