Summary: A complementary set of base metal catalysts has been developed for regiodivergent alkene hydrosilylations: iron complexes exhibit high selectivity for Markovnikov hydrosilylations, while cobalt complexes provide excellent anti-Markovnikov selectivity. Both systems are highly efficient and tolerant to a wide range of functional groups.

Summary: The reaction between rhenium alpha-diimine tricarbonyl complexes and nitrosonium tetrafluoroborate yields dicarbonyl-nitrosyl [Re(CO)(2)(NO)(N-N)X](+) species, showing potential antimicrobial applications. The metal ion in the complexes behaves as a hard Re acid with strong affinity for pi-basic ligands, making it difficult to replace with other ligands. The complexes can be photo-activated towards CO release, representing a new class of photoCORMs.

Summary: This study synthesized and characterized twelve Re(i) tricarbonyl diimine complexes with thiotetrazolato ligands. The tetrazolato ligand can bind to the Re(i) center through either the S atom or the N atom, with most complexes being bound to the N atom. In solution, the complexes exist as an equilibrating mixture of linkage isomers. The complexes exhibit photoluminescent properties, with emission wavelengths dependent on the nature of the diimine ligand.

Summary: The lysozyme binding affinity and electronic properties of [ReX (CO)(3)(terpy-κN-2(1),N-2)] (X = Br− and triazolate(COOCH2CH3,CF3)) were reported, with the triazolate compound showing a red shift of the MLCT band in less polar solvents possibly due to negative solvatochromism. The triazolate complex was prepared through a [3 + 2] cyclo-addition click reaction, while the bromo compound reacted with lysozyme forming adducts with Re(CO)(3)(+) fragments.

Summary: Chemotherapy with platinum drugs is a common treatment for cancer, but resistance and toxic side effects limit its effectiveness. Researchers have discovered a new class of oxo-rhenium(V) complexes that have higher antitumor activity and can overcome resistance. These complexes accumulate in mitochondria, disrupt mitochondrial membrane potential, and increase reactive oxygen species, leading to cancer cell death.

Summary: A new and highly reactive [Tc(OH2)(CO)(3)(PPh3)(2)](+) cation was successfully synthesized, and its ligand exchange reactions with various neutral ligands were systematically studied. The resultant complexes exhibited different levels of stability and reactivity, offering interesting possibilities for the development of Tc-99m complexes. The ready displacement of the aqua ligand highlights the synthetic value of [Tc(OH2)(CO)(3)(PPh3)(2)](+) as a reactive entry point for further studies in the field of organometallic chemistry of technetium.

Summary: A simple abiological host-guest system demonstrates racemase activity with catalytic rate enhancements of 10(4) without employing traditional functional groups. Cooperative weak interactions enhanced through shape-complementarity between the catalyst active site and the reaction transition state drive this activity, suggesting that shape selectivity arising from cooperative dispersive forces is sufficient for the emergence of a catalytic system with an enzyme-like thermodynamic profile.

The authors synthesized and characterized a series of new chiral Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes and analyzed their structures.
