Summary: In this study, we presented two dysprosium single-molecule magnets with different bridging ligands, showing varying luminescence properties. While one displayed weak luminescence making simulation challenging, the other exhibited enhanced and well-resolved luminescence, providing valuable insights into magneto-optical correlation and magnetic energy levels.

Summary: The properties of pi-conjugated oligomers and polymers can be controlled by side group engineering, main chain engineering, or conformational engineering. This study proposes a different approach to conformational engineering by using a tether of varying lengths to control the twist of the aromatic units in the backbone. The results show that the optical and electronic properties of pi-conjugated systems are influenced by the length and twist angle of the backbone, and the twisted oligomers exhibit chiral amplification.

Summary: Tuning the diradical character and properties of organic diradicaloids can be achieved through precise borylation reactions. The synthesized B-containing polycyclic hydrocarbon exhibits distinctive electronic structures and properties compared to its isomeric molecule. Moreover, it shows smaller diradical character and enhanced Lewis acidity, which can further enhance its diradical performance through Lewis coordination.

Summary: The conjugated macrocycles cycloparaphenylenes (CPPs) exhibit high conductance and large tunneling attenuation coefficient, especially at small ring sizes. Radially pi-conjugated molecular systems offer a larger conductance modulation range than standard linear molecules, making them a potential platform for building molecular devices with highly tunable transport behaviors.

Summary: In this study, a pyrene based probe associated with pi center-dot-hydrazone as one of the recognizing elements is synthesized and transformed into a selective colorimetric and turn-on fluorescent sensor (L-3) for cyanide anion. The chemo sensor exhibits high selectivity towards cyanide anion through a photo electron transfer (PET) mechanism, with a binding strength and sensitivity of 2.0 X 10(4) and 4.44 x 10(-4) respectively. Comparison with previously reported receptors L-1 and L-2 shows the homogeneous dispersion of pi center-dot-hole in the aromatic ring governing the selectivity of the receptor towards cyanide anion.

Summary: Halogenated and non-halogenated boron complexes bearing pyrrole and pi-expanded pyridine structures were prepared and their optical properties were investigated. Mechano-chromic properties were observed in boron complexes 1 a-H, 1 a-Cl, and 1 a-Br. The emission characteristics, molecular structures, and solid-state properties were studied using X-ray crystallographic analysis and X-ray diffraction investigation for the analogs 1 a-I, 1 b-Br, and 1 c-Br.

Summary: This study constructed two-dimensional CCPs using inactive transition-metal ions as nodes to achieve high reversible capacity and remarkable capacity retention by storing cations and anions through redox reactions of only ligands. In contrast, CCPs with Cu2+ nodes showed poorer cyclability when both ligands and metal ions underwent redox reactions, emphasizing the importance of redox reactions of only ligands for long-term cycle life.

Summary: This study reports luminescent conjugated polymers with boron-fused azomethine structure and tridentate ligands, which can respond to acid vapor and are used for film-type sensors. The acid responsiveness is due to the lone-pair electrons on the nitrogen atom in the boron-fused azomethine unit. The polymer films exhibit red shifts in emission wavelengths under acid vapor and reversible responses. Furthermore, the films show unique luminescent color changes due to environmental sensitivity. The bilayer films of the BAm polymer coated with poly(n-butyl methacrylate) show vapochromic luminescence with blue shifts depending on exposure time, allowing for the evaluation of solvent-vapor permeability.

Summary: In the synthesis experiment, it was found that dyes 10 and 11 have excellent red-shift values in the absorption spectrum. Based on this, four novel dyes (A, B, C, D) were designed as the photoactive layers of DSSCs. Among them, dye B exhibits the narrowest energy gap and the most significant red shift in absorption peak.

Summary: The first violet light-mediated synthesis of gamma- and delta-lactams from N-alkenyl trichloroacetamides is reported in this paper. The reactions are conducted in tetrahydrofuran or 2-methyltetrahydrofuran as the sole solvent without catalysts or additives, under non-anhydrous conditions in an air atmosphere where the solvent serves as the radical initiator.

Summary: A new 1,2,4-triazole-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine hybrid system, 6-acylpyrrolo[1,2-a][1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-c]pyrazine, was synthesized using a catalyst-free method. This method involved sequential exposure of pyrrole-2-carbonitrile-derived substrates to DMF-DMA and acyl hydrazide, resulting in the formation of acylated pyrazine and 1,2,4-triazole rings, enabling the installation of various substituents at specific positions on the core skeleton.

Summary: Alcohol dehydrogenases are enzymes that use cofactors for oxidation or reduction reactions of alcohols or carbonyl compounds. They are utilized in green chemistry and have applications in the production of pharmaceuticals. Recombinant enzymes have solved the challenge of producing purified enzymes in large quantities. Engineered alcohol dehydrogenases have been used in asymmetric synthesis in industry. Various methods have been established for regenerating expensive cofactors to make the enzymatic process more efficient and economically viable.
