Summary: A novel joint histogram equalization (JHE) based technique is proposed in this research to improve the contrast of an image by utilizing the information among each pixel and its neighbors. The experimental analysis shows that this method outperforms the state-of-the-art histogram equalization algorithms in contrast enhancement, even for images with a narrow dynamic range.

Summary: A method based on image histogram is proposed for quality inspection of 3D film images, which calculates the width of pixels for a specific height and classifies them based on a threshold. Experimental results show that the position of the height section of the image histogram achieves the highest classification accuracy. The proposed method demonstrates excellent classification accuracy for 3D film image classification compared to conventional algorithms.

Summary: This research aims to eliminate texture seams in texture mapping of 3D models through color correction. Two improvements are proposed: a pairwise-based method and a filtering process utilizing 3D information. The proposed approach outperforms other methods qualitatively and quantitatively, enhancing the visual quality of textured meshes significantly.

Summary: In this paper, a new large-scale publicly available color constancy dataset called Shadows & Lumination dataset is introduced. The dataset consists of 2500 minimally processed images from various indoor, outdoor, and night-time scenes. Unlike other datasets, it includes real-world images with two illuminants for multi-illuminant estimation, along with binary segmentation masks dividing the image into regions illuminated by each illuminant. The paper also benchmarks illumination estimation methods and image segmentation methods using the dataset.

Summary: Some fish use electrotaxis to approach conspecifics by analyzing the characteristics of electric organ discharges and can determine the gender of conspecifics to find a mate. They encode multiple messages in the same self-generated communication signal carrier, which is likely a common and successful strategy across evolutionary lineages.

Summary: A recent development in marketing tools involves the use of three-dimensional pattern films to boost sales. However, evaluating the quality of these films has been challenging. To address this, researchers propose an algorithm that leverages histogram information to accurately classify 3D pattern films as either 'good' or 'bad', achieving high accuracy in experiments.

Summary: This study investigated the natural weathering behavior of sixteen different wood species under the same conditions for a year, showing that the surfaces of pine, maple, and tulip samples experienced the darkest and greatest color changes, while walnut, A. walnut, and oak samples showed the least color changes. High-density wood species demonstrated more stability against color changes, while there was no significant correlation between density and roughness or gloss property changes.

Summary: In this study, a CBIR model using Color Histogram and Local Binary Pattern (LBP) was presented. The model utilized Microservices architecture with Docker platform. The experimental results showed that the CBIR model using LBP outperformed the one using Color Histogram in detecting various weather conditions. It was also found that adopting Microservices architecture significantly improved the non-functional qualities of the CBIR system compared to traditional architecture styles.
