Summary: This study compared the repair bond strength of two single-shade composite resins bonded to different CAD-CAM substrates with different surface treatments. The results showed significant differences among the eight groups, with the highest bond strength observed in Lava Ultimate substrates repaired using Charisma Diamond ONE after APA treatment, and the lowest bond strength recorded in Vita Enamic group repaired using OMNICHROMA after SiCr treatment. Cohesive failure in the substrate was the most common failure mode. Charisma Diamond ONE showed better bond strength values compared to Omnichroma, and the use of APA was recommended for improved bond strength in repairs of Lava Ultimate restorations.

Summary: Denture base fracture is a common problem in prosthodontics, and repairing the denture is a preferred solution. This study investigated the effect of surface treatment on the shear bond strength (SBS) of conventionally and digitally fabricated denture base resins. The results showed that 3D-printed resins had a lower SBS compared to conventional and CAD-CAM milled resins, while sandblasting and monomer application increased the SBS of the repaired resin.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different powers of Er:YAG laser on the shear bond strength of repaired CAD/CAM resin-based composite materials. The results showed that increasing laser power can improve the bond strength, with the 3 W laser treatment leading to adhesive failure. Additionally, the 3 W laser treatment resulted in smoother surfaces compared to other laser treatments.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the efficacy of airborne-particle abrasion and/or a primer in the repair of composite resin-veneered PEEK prostheses. Results showed that repaired composite resin-veneered PEEK restorations with airborne particle abrasion and/or primer can provide shear bond strength (SBS) comparable to the initial SBS, with significantly lower SBS values in the negative control group without airborne-particle abrasion.

Summary: This paper investigates the connection between metal and plastic by using surface pretreatment and laser welding. The results show that the metal surface with mesh micro-textures can achieve the maximum tensile shear strength, and the arrangement of the mesh array micro-textures improves the stress distribution during the welding process. The XPS analysis demonstrates the formation of a new chemical bond between the metal and plastic, which enhances the welding strength.

Summary: The aim of this study was to compare the bond strength of resin composite and porcelain laminate veneers in the indirect repair and direct repair methods for porcelain veneer fracture cases of zirconia-based fixed dental prostheses. The results showed that the bond strength of the indirect repairs made with laminate material was higher than that of the direct repairs made with composite. The adhesive failure was mostly seen in the groups repaired with the composite.

Summary: The study assessed the effects of different surface treatments on repaired 3D-printed denture base's surface roughness and flexural strength. Results showed that all surface treatments significantly increased surface roughness and flexural strength, but none matched the strength of the intact group. Among the treatments, bur grinding provided the highest flexural strength.

Summary: The development of vascularized scaffolds is a major challenge in tissue engineering, and co-culturing with endothelial cells is a possible approach. In this study, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and fibroblasts were cultured on collagen scaffolds using different culture conditions. The results showed that collagen gel scaffolds supported cell proliferation and viability, while collagen sponge scaffolds were fragile and lacked signs of vascularization. However, under the experimental conditions, the HUVEC/fibroblast-seeded scaffolds were not suitable for generating in vitro prevascularized equivalents.

Summary: This study compared the effects of rigid and nonrigid connecting wires on the stress, anchorage loss, and risk of root resorption of miniscrews using finite element analysis. The results showed that using a rigid connecting wire can provide better control of the anchorage and reduce the risk of root resorption, but it increases the risk of miniscrew failure. The stress on the miniscrew is higher with a rigid connection, while it is lower with a nonrigid connection. Parametric analysis showed that a higher elastic modulus of the connecting wire in the nonrigid anchorage reduces the anchorage loss and risk of root resorption, but increases the stress on the miniscrew.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of three orthodontic bracket adhesives and three resin removal methods on enamel discoloration. The results showed that all nine combinations of adhesives and resin removal techniques caused visible discolorations. Self-etch composites or RMGI might be recommended over total etch composites for adhesive selection. Using Stainbuster burs together with tungsten carbide burs is recommended to reduce discoloration. However, the choice of adhesive removal technique can greatly affect the coloration caused by each composite type.

Summary: The diameter of PSAA in this Iranian population is smaller compared to other populations, with very few large canals present. Although the average diameter increased in the anterior regions, large canals were not present in these regions. Males tend to have larger PSAAs, age might not change canal parameters, gender might affect canal diameter, and right/left sides are similar in terms of PSAA anatomy.
