Summary: Polypill is a combination of multiple drugs in a single pill, aiming to simplify drug regimen and reduce adverse effects. It has been widely used for treating cardiovascular diseases by targeting key modifiable risk factors. However, recent clinical trials have yielded contradictory findings, leading to skepticism about its widespread use in primary disease prevention.

Summary: The aim of this study was to analyze patient experiences with immediate sequential bilateral cataract surgery (ISBCS). An anonymous survey was sent to patients who had undergone ISBCS between May 1, 2020, and April 30, 2022. The survey found that 94.6% of respondents were satisfied with the opportunity to have both eyes treated in one surgical procedure, 89.7% would choose ISBCS again if given the choice, and 89.2% would recommend the procedure to their family members. The most common problems reported with ISBCS were the need to sleep in a supine position (32.8%), inability to read shortly after surgery (27.7%), wearing dressings on both eyes (24.6%), and applying eyedrops to both eyes at the same time (17.4%).

Summary: Automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) is an ultrasound technique increasingly used as a supplementary technique in evaluating patients with dense glandular breasts. It has advantages in increasing breast cancer detection rate, improving workflow, and reducing examination time. However, ABUS also has disadvantages that can be diminished with additional attention and training.

Summary: In this review, the authors examine the complex metabolic reprogramming caused by oncolytic viruses in tumor cells and immune cells. They highlight the challenge of oncolytic virotherapy, which leads to further depletion of nutrients and accumulation of metabolic waste in the tumor microenvironment, creating a metabolic barrier to antitumor immune responses. The authors also discuss targeted metabolic strategies to enhance the therapeutic potential of oncolytic viruses.

Summary: In recent decades, there has been an increasing trend in infections caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria, which are associated with higher morbidity and mortality. Various interventions should be implemented to reduce the emergence and spread of MDR bacteria. This mini-review aims to compile and discuss different strategies for eradicating MDR bacteria from the gut microbiota.
