Summary: Ovarian cancer (OC) is a highly lethal tumor in women, and understanding the role of pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) in prognosis can help develop new treatment approaches. In this study, a 9-genes based prognostic model was developed for OC patients, and an immune deficiency in the high-risk group was identified as a potential cause for decreased survival. Age, clinical stage, and the prognostic model were independent factors impacting OC prognosis, and a predictive nomogram was created for survival prediction. Additionally, the regulatory axis of lncRNA RP11-186B7.4/hsa-miR-449a/CASP8/ AIM2/ZBP1 was identified in OC, providing potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Summary: Ovarian cancer is a common malignant tumor that seriously threatens women's health. The lack of clinical prognostic predictors can be addressed by using m5c-related lncRNA as a basis to construct a risk model. The study successfully developed a reliable m5c-related prediction model for ovarian cancer, which can be used for prognosis assessment and the discovery of novel biomarkers.

Summary: Recent advances in RNA studies have identified a novel estrogen-inducible antisense RNA, BNAT1, in ER-positive breast cancer. Silencing of BNAT1 inhibited the growth of tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer cells, repressed cell cycle progression, and promoted apoptosis. BNAT1 may play a critical role in ER-positive breast cancer biology by modulating ER alpha-dependent transcription regulation.

Summary: The upregulated expression of lncRNA ZFHX4-AS1 in ovarian cancer is associated with poor prognosis. Functional and pathway analyses reveal its involvement in cell metabolism, protein synthesis, cell proliferation, and cell cycle. The expression of lncRNA ZFHX4-AS1 affects the infiltration of immune cells such as M2 macrophages, memory B-cells, naive B cells, and activated NK cells. Furthermore, lncRNA ZFHX4-AS1 and its related genes are significantly correlated with immune checkpoints. Knockdown of lncRNA ZFHX4-AS1 inhibits proliferation, invasion, and migration of ovarian cancer cells.

Summary: This paper explores the functional role and molecular mechanism of long noncoding RNA CASC15 in ovarian cancer. In vitro and in vivo experiments validate CASC15 as an oncogenic gene that enhances metastasis in ovarian cancer. It is shown that miR-23b-3p and miR-24-3p directly target CASC15 and CASC15 regulates SMAD3 expression through these microRNAs.

Summary: This study conducted an updated meta-analysis to investigate the prognostic value of estrogen receptor (ER) subtypes ER alpha and ER beta in ovarian cancer. The findings suggest that higher expression of ER alpha and ER beta is significantly associated with better survival in ovarian cancer patients. However, the choice of specific ER antibody clones used in immunohistochemistry analysis significantly affects the results.

Summary: This study identifies a highly expressed estrogen-induced lncRNA, LINC02568, in ER-positive breast cancer, which plays important roles in cell growth, tumorigenesis, and endocrine therapy drug resistance. Mechanistically, LINC02568 regulates estrogen/ERα-induced gene transcriptional activation by stabilizing ESR1 mRNA through sponging miR-1233-5p in the cytoplasm. Additionally, LINC02568 contributes to tumor-specific pH homeostasis by regulating carbonic anhydrase CA12 in the nucleus. The dual functions of LINC02568 contribute to breast cancer progression and drug resistance.

Summary: This study characterized the role of lncRNA somatic mutations in the ceRNA regulatory network in 33 cancers, revealing the impact of high and low-frequency mutations on oncogenic gene expression levels. Experimental verification showed the importance of these mutations in tumor heterogeneity. The study also identified that lncRNAs perturbing ceMs associated with patient survival may serve as biomarkers.

Summary: In this study, an adaptive super-twisting-based nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode control (AST-NFTSMC) scheme is proposed to reduce the impact of PMLSM servo system on interferences. The mathematical model of PMLSM with uncertainties is established, and a control law is developed to asymptotically converge position signal to a given state. The super-twisting algorithm is introduced to weaken the chattering caused by nonlinear switching function. An adaptive law is further introduced to adjust the switching gains online and weaken chattering. The practicability of AST-NFTSMC is proved in theory and verified by system experiments, which demonstrate its ability to significantly reduce chattering and achieve robust control performance.

Summary: A sensitive electrochemical aptasensor for detecting the concentration of Doxorubicin (DOX) was developed. The sensor utilized a gold wire as the working electrode and was modified with reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to enhance sensitivity. An aptamer was used as the recognition element and changes in electron transfer rate induced by the aptamer-DOX binding resulted in current changes correlated with DOX concentration. The aptasensor exhibited good linearity in the concentration range of 0.3 μM to 6 μM with a detection limit of 0.1 μM. Moreover, the aptasensor demonstrated good recovery in real samples, indicating its potential for DOX detection.

Summary: The study collected and analyzed clinical data of 7974 singleton, high-risk pregnant women in Peking University First Hospital from 2014 to 2018. It found that exposure to high-level (>= 75 mu g/m(3)) of PM2.5 during the third trimester of pregnancy increases the risk of PTB and ETB. Each 10ug/m(3) increase in PM2.5 significantly affects PTB and ETB during the third trimester and the entire pregnancy in the high-level exposure group.

Summary: Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) is commonly used for treating symptoms associated with menopause in women, but its exact relationship with increased risk of breast cancer remains unclear. Current research indicates that estrogen monotherapy is associated with a lower incidence of breast cancer, while estrogen-progesterone combined therapy is linked to an elevated risk.
