Summary: This study investigated the protective effects of sevoflurane (Sevo) in hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. It was found that Sevo alleviated liver injury and reduced cell apoptosis in a mouse I/R model by promoting miR-96 expression and inhibiting FOXO4 expression. These findings highlight the molecular mechanism by which Sevo mitigates hepatic I/R injury.

Summary: The study revealed that FOXK1 regulates miR-32 expression in colorectal cancer by binding directly to the miR-32 promoter, leading to activation of TMEM245 and suppression of PTEN, thereby promoting cell proliferation and invasion while inhibiting apoptosis.

Summary: This study analyzed the differential expression of miRNAs between HCC patients and controls and found that miR-16 and miR-122 were significantly upregulated in early-stage HCC patients. Combining these miRNAs with AFP improved the diagnostic efficacy for HCC. Furthermore, miR-16 and miR-122 were found to regulate a number of potential target genes involved in cancer pathways.

Summary: This study discovered that miR-29 c-3p improves PCOS by targeting Foxo3 and participating in insulin function. MiR-29 c-3p is downregulated in PCOS, while Foxo3 is upregulated. Upregulated miR-29 c-3p or downregulated Foxo3 promotes cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis in ovarian tumor cells. It also restores sex hormone levels and improves glucose metabolism in PCOS rats.

Summary: The study showed that hsa_circ_0000212 acts as a sponge for miR-491, modulating CRC cell proliferation by targeting FOXP4. Decreased miR-491 expression or increased FOXP4 expression was associated with CRC patient pathological staging. Additionally, circ-0000212 was upregulated in CRC tissues and promoted CRC cell viability by sponging miR-491 and modulating FOXP4.

Summary: Accumulating evidence suggests that lncRNA SNHG16 plays a role in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Inhibition of SNHG16 alleviates cardiomyocyte apoptosis induced by hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) and myocardial I/R injury. SNHG16 interacts with miR-183, which targets forkhead box O1 (FoxO1). The SNHG16/miR-183/FOXO1 axis exacerbates myocardial cell apoptosis in myocardial I/R injury.

Summary: This study identified an upregulated circular RNA, circKIF5B, in liver cancer cells and demonstrated its role in regulating the proliferation, invasion, and metastasis of liver cancer cells through modulation of the miR-192 family. These findings provide mechanistic evidence and suggest circKIF5B as a potential therapeutic target for liver cancer.

Summary: This study explored the effectiveness of miRNA-96-5p and miRNA-99a-5p as diagnostic tools in HCC. The results showed increased expression levels of miRNA-96-5p in HCC patient sera, while miRNA-99a-5p levels were reduced. Combining circulating miRNA-96-5p, miRNA-99a-5p, and AFP improved the accuracy of HCC diagnosis. Higher serum miRNA-96-5p levels were linked to larger tumors and metastasis, while lower serum miRNA-99a-5p levels were exclusively linked to HCC metastasis.

Summary: This study reveals that Kindlin-2 regulates HCC cell migration and metastasis through the suppression of miR-1258 and the upregulation of TCF4 expression. It also identifies a positive feedback loop between Kindlin-2, miR-1258, and TCF4. These findings provide important evidence for the potential therapeutic targeting of Kindlin-2 in HCC.

Summary: This study demonstrates the inhibitory effects of beta-sitosterol on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) growth and metastasis. Beta-sitosterol downregulates the expression of forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) and inhibits Wnt/beta-catenin signaling, resulting in the suppression of HCC cell proliferation and metastasis. These findings highlight the potential of beta-sitosterol as a therapeutic candidate for HCC treatment.
