Summary: The study revealed that miR-338-5p controls epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells by targeting the EGFR/ERK pathway, and its expression in clinical analysis is negatively associated with lymph node metastasis and AJCC staging.

Summary: The study demonstrated that miR-573 could suppress the proliferation, migration, and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells by targeting E2F3, indicating its critical role in tumorigenesis, especially in pancreatic cancer. Patients with high level of miR-573 had significantly reduced risk of death, while high level of E2F3 was associated with worse prognosis in terms of tumor stage.

Summary: In this study, the expression of LAMC2 in PDAC and its regulated network were investigated, with the aim of identifying potential therapies. It was found that LAMC2 was consistently upregulated in PDAC and associated with tumor grade and survival. The LAMC2-regulated network contained downstream effectors shared by the KRAS signaling pathway, and the inhibition of LAMC2 or AXL showed a synergistic antiproliferative effect in combination with MEK1/2 inhibitors in PDAC models.

Summary: ZFAS1 is overexpressed in pancreatic cancer and promotes the growth and metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells. It exerts its effects by inducing the expression of HMGA2 through decoying miR-497-5p, thus promoting the progression of pancreatic cancer.

Summary: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has poor survival rates, but targeting the purinergic axis, particularly the P2RY2 gene, may present a potential therapy. By analyzing the PDAC extracellular purinome, P2RY2 was identified as strongly associated with hypoxia, highly expressed in cancer cells, and having a significant impact on survival. Furthermore, this study revealed a novel GPCR-integrin interaction involving P2Y(2) and aV integrins in ATP-driven invasion, suggesting its potential for therapeutic targeting.

Summary: Metastasis is a major cause of breast cancer mortality. This study found that the expression of histone demethylase KDM2A was negatively correlated with breast cancer metastasis. The study revealed a novel mechanism in which KDM2A suppresses the EGF-TSPAN8 pathway to inhibit breast cancer cell migration and invasion.

Summary: The study demonstrated that miR-573 is downregulated and TSPAN1 is upregulated in pancreatic cancer tissues and cells. Overexpression of miR-573 inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by targeting TSPAN1. Furthermore, downregulation of TSPAN1 also suppressed cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in pancreatic cancer cells.

Summary: MiR-10b-5p is highly expressed in advanced stage gastric cancer patients, targeting PTEN in GC cells and KLFII in fibroblasts, regulating the PI3K/Akt/mTORC1 signaling pathway. Exosomal miR-10b-5p promotes proliferation of GC cells, while miR-10b-5p inhibitor reduces cell growth and viability.

Summary: Pancreatic cancer has a high mortality rate due to metastasis, with overexpression of ARL4C in patients playing a crucial role in cancer cell invasion through its localization to invasive pseudopods. Interaction between ARL4C and IQGAP1, along with recruitment of MMP14 to invasive pseudopods, activate invasion signals that lead to degradation of the extracellular matrix. Targeting ARL4C may be a promising approach for treating pancreatic cancer metastasis.

Summary: This letter discusses a study on the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma with lung metastases using anti-KRAS G12D T-cell therapy. Two points are brought up: firstly, patients with lung-only metastases from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma have favorable clinical outcomes, possibly due to immunity; secondly, the T cells used in the study had a tissue-resident phenotype with high CD103 expression, which is closely correlated to the treatment response.

Summary: Aberrant expression of miR-30d in pancreatic cancer is associated with poor prognosis and early relapse of patients. The tumor suppressive effect of miR-30d is mediated through direct targeting of SOX4, leading to inhibition of the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway and repression of pancreatic cancer cell growth and metastasis.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the involvement of S1PR2 in EGF-induced migration and invasion of OSCC lines, as well as any potential crosstalk between the two pathways. The results demonstrated that S1PR2 inhibition reduced EGF-induced migration, invasion, and Rac1 activity. However, S1PR2 activation did not enhance the effect of EGF on migration, invasion, or Rac1 activity. Additionally, EGF promoted S1P production through the upregulation of Sphk1.
