Summary: We investigated the effects of chrysoeriol on fat cell formation and breakdown and identified the underlying mechanisms. Chrysoeriol inhibited fat accumulation in adipocytes and downregulated the expression of key genes involved in fat synthesis. Furthermore, chrysoeriol activated a protein kinase that promotes fat breakdown and increased the levels of free glycerol and fatty acids. Overexpression of specific enzymes for fat breakdown contributed to the enhanced lipolysis induced by chrysoeriol. Overall, chrysoeriol exhibited anti-adipogenic and lipolytic properties in fat cells.

Summary: Peanut shells, as agricultural waste, contain luteolin (LUT) which has anti-obesity properties. The study found that the extract from peanut shells can inhibit adipogenesis, accelerate lipolysis, and promote lipid browning, making it a potential dietary supplement for weight management.

Summary: This study investigated the anti-obesity effect of the Trapa japonica Flerov extract (TJ) in differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The results showed that TJ reduced lipid accumulation by promoting lipolysis and inhibiting adipogenesis and lipogenesis. The component ellagic acid in TJ might contribute to its effectiveness.

Summary: The aim of this study is to determine the effects of yeast vacuoles on triglyceride accumulation and differentiation of pre-adipocytes to adipocytes using 3T3-L1 cells. After treatment with vacuoles, lipid droplets and triglyceride accumulation were reduced, and expression levels of C/EBP alpha and PPAR gamma in vacuole-treated adipocytes were significantly reduced. Yeast-derived vacuoles could be an important source for inhibiting lipid accumulation and obesity-related inflammation by suppressing adipogenesis.

Summary: This study examines the effect of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) on adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 cells. The results show that DHA inhibits adipogenesis, lipolysis, and glucose uptake by suppressing Pparg and Gpr120 gene expression. This challenges the conventional belief that omega-3 fatty acids promote adipogenesis and enhance insulin-dependent glucose cell flux.

Summary: Inhibition of adipocyte differentiation by menadione, a synthetic form of vitamin K, is mediated, at least in part, by increased ROS and lipid peroxidation, leading to decreased intracellular lipid accumulation and triglyceride content by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt pathway.

Summary: Growing evidence shows that restricting amino acid intake can reverse obesity by reducing adipose tissue mass. Amino acids not only serve as building blocks for proteins but also play a role as signaling molecules in various biological processes. Understanding how adipocytes respond to changes in amino acid levels is crucial for studying obesity and developing potential treatments.

Summary: Chlorpyrifos, a representative of organophosphorus pesticides, has effects on the viability, proliferation, differentiation, and fatty acid uptake in 3T3-L1 cells. Exposure to chlorpyrifos decreases cell viability but increases it at low concentrations. It inhibits proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes, reduces lipid accumulation, and down-regulates key transcription factors. In fully differentiated adipocytes, chlorpyrifos increases basal free fatty acid uptake. These findings suggest that chlorpyrifos may play a role in the development of obesity.

Summary: Substantial levels of lysozyme in adipose tissue have been found in association with obesity in mice and humans. This study investigates the role of lysozyme in adipogenesis, focusing on its expression and impact during 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation. The results suggest that lysozyme expression is important for the expression of adipogenic genes and adipocyte differentiation.

Summary: In this study, a newly synthesized indole derivative, CF3-allylated indole, was found to effectively inhibit adipogenesis by regulating PKA/AMPK signaling in the early stage of adipocyte differentiation. These findings suggest the potential of CF3-allylated indole in controlling initial adipocyte differentiation in metabolic disorders such as obesity.
