Summary: Breakdown of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is an important pathological marker in the development of Alzheimer's disease. Beta-amyloid deposition disrupts tight junction proteins formed by endothelial cells, leading to increased BBB permeability. Through regulation of various genes and molecules, the TARBP2/SNHG7/miR-17-5p/NFATC3 pathway may provide insights into the changes in the BBB during the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Summary: The long non-coding RNA EPR regulates various biological activities in mouse mammary gland cells and is highly expressed in the intestine. The specific deletion of EPR in the colon of mice results in hyperproliferation of epithelial cells, impaired mucus production and secretion, inflammatory infiltration, and increased vulnerability to colitis and tumor formation. EPR interacts with genes involved in mucus metabolism and its deletion causes changes in chromatin organization.

Summary: Bacterial gene expression is controlled by a complex system of molecules, with small regulatory RNAs (sRNAs) emerging as key players alongside transcription factors. sRNAs influence various biological processes and can act intracellularly or even in extracellular vesicles, impacting host cell interactions. Studies suggest that sRNA-mediated mechanisms are more diverse than previously thought, beyond traditional classifications.

Summary: Cisplatin is widely used as an antineoplastic agent in the treatment of solid tumors, but its main side effect is nephrotoxicity. Research has shown that epigenetic processes, particularly noncoding RNAs, are involved in cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. Studying the regulation of different microRNAs in cell death pathways can provide new strategies for diagnosing and treating this unwanted side effect.

Summary: The study revealed that TINCR is upregulated in human breast cancer tissues and its knockdown suppresses tumorigenesis in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, TINCR recruits DNMT1 to the miR-503-5p locus promoter, increasing methylation and suppressing transcriptional expression of miR-503-5p. Additionally, TINCR functions as a competing endogenous RNA to upregulate EGFR expression by sponging miR-503-5p.

Summary: This study comprehensively investigates the regulatory roles of the new cell density-dependent sRNA Qrr4 in V. alginolyticus, revealing its significant effects on the physiology, virulence, and metabolism of the bacteria. The disturbance of multiple metabolic pathways, including phospholipid, nucleotide, carbohydrate, and amino acid metabolic pathways, provides novel insights into the potential mechanism by which mutation of qrr4 interferes with cellular energy homeostasis and modulates the characteristics of V. alginolyticus.

Summary: The study identified 9,551 lncRNAs in duck follicles, with 445 differentially expressed between white and yellow follicles. The results demonstrated that lnc_13814 promotes cell apoptosis in duck GCs and is involved in a lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA coexpression network. Overexpression of lnc_13814 increases DDIT3 expression and up-regulates GCs apoptosis, suggesting potential effects on duck ovarian follicles.

Summary: Exercise training benefits the heart and upregulates ADAR2 expression in the heart. ADAR2 can regulate the abundance of mature miR-34a in cardiomyocytes and affect their proliferation and apoptosis. This study suggests that ADAR2 overexpression or RNA editing via ADAR2 may be a promising therapeutic strategy for heart diseases.

Summary: This study reveals that HASTER plays a role in maintaining the normal concentration of HNF1A through positive and negative feedback loops. Mutations in Haster lead to silencing or overexpression of HNF1A in pancreatic beta cells, resulting in hyperglycemia. The HASTER-dependent negative feedback is essential for preventing inappropriate binding of HNF1A to genomic regions.
