Summary: This study examined the challenges and opportunities for Vietnam in transforming its healthcare system towards a patient-centered care model. The findings suggest that while Vietnam's current environment is favorable for transitioning towards the BHS model, there are obstacles such as lack of legal regulation, readiness for healthcare digitalization, and limited empirical evidence on digital health initiatives.

Summary: The study found differences in patient satisfaction scores among different medical specialties, with some specialties more likely to achieve perfect overall scores (Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Dermatology, Family Medicine) and others less likely (Orthopaedics, Pediatric Medicine, Pediatric Neurology, Neurology, Pain Management). Adult specialties were more likely to achieve satisfaction compared to pediatric specialties. No significant differences were found between surgical and non-surgical specialties.

Summary: This article explores the experience of gentrification in the Hasanpasa neighborhood of Istanbul, focusing on the agency and aspirations of the marginalized middle-lower-class residents who desire urban change. The locals exhibit an aspirational normativity towards renewal, exemplified by the transformation of an abandoned power plant into a cultural complex. The case of Hasanpasa highlights the importance of considering different starting points, contextual features, and intersecting social positions for a comprehensive understanding of urban change landscapes.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the frequency of value preferences in recording vital signs in electronic healthcare records (EHRs) and the factors associated with it. Data from Oxford University Hospitals, UK, were analyzed to determine the prevalence of value preferences in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature measurements. The study found that there were discrepancies in the recorded values, particularly in temperature measurements. Digit preference and temperature recordings of 36.0 degrees C were more common in certain patient groups and hospital settings. This highlights the need for accurate documentation and adjustments in patient care and research analysis.

Summary: Compared with outside the room case presentation, bedside case presentation was shorter and resulted in similar patient knowledge, but sensitive topics were more often avoided and patient confusion was higher. Physicians presenting at the bedside need to be skilled in the use of medical language to avoid confusion and misunderstandings.

Summary: The study found that female and underrepresented minority students had different interests in medical specialties at matriculation, with minorities showing more interest in obstetrics/gynecology and surgery. However, by graduation, women were more inclined towards obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics, while underrepresented minority students were more likely to choose internal medicine. Female students showed relatively stable preferences in medical specialties from matriculation to graduation, while underrepresented minority students' specialty plans shifted over time.

Summary: This study aims to prioritize the quality measures endorsed by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) based on health impact and cost-effectiveness. The results show that early carotid imaging and intravenous tissue plasminogen activator are the most promising measures for quality improvement, and focusing on the top 5 quality measures in AIS care can achieve 92% of the potential value. Our findings can assist providers and payers in setting priorities for quality improvement efforts and value-based payments in AIS care.
