Summary: Triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs) have limited treatment options, but PD-L1 can be used as an indicator for immunotherapy susceptibility. Currently, PD-L1 assessment is limited to biopsy samples, but molecular imaging can overcome these limitations. This study demonstrates the potential of [Zr-89]-Atezolizumab PET/CT imaging for the noninvasive detection of PD-L1-positive TNBC tumors, allowing for quantitative and longitudinal assessment. It also provides insights into tumor heterogeneity and early expression changes in PD-L1 induced by therapy.

Summary: In many cancers, including lymphoma, males have higher incidence and mortality than females. One mechanism underlying this phenomenon is sex differences in metabolism, both with respect to tumor nutrient consumption and systemic alterations in metabolism, i.e., obesity. This study found that visceral fat and tumor glucose uptake can predict outcomes in DLBCL patients in a sex-specific fashion.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the potential added value of FDG-PET in identifying melanoma patients at higher risk of relapse following discontinuation of ICB therapy. The results showed that FDG-PET was more effective in evaluating complete metabolic response compared to CT imaging. These findings may have clinical relevance for patients with residual tumor burden.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term metabolic risk profiles of Fukushima residents after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The prevalence of metabolic factors in Fukushima was higher than the country average, with an increasing trend in metabolic syndrome, overweight, and diabetes. Control measures for metabolic syndrome in Fukushima residents, particularly in subareas affected by the earthquake, are necessary.
