Summary: The availability of dissolved iron (dFe) in the Southern Ocean (SO) affects the uptake of atmospheric CO2 by the SO biological pump and has a direct impact on climate. Fe uptake experiments with Phaeocystis antarctica reveal that the range of dFe bioavailability in natural samples is wider than previously thought, with higher bioavailability near glacial sources. The degree of bioavailability is not solely dependent on in situ dFe concentration and depth, challenging the assumption used in modeling studies.

Differences in ESG rating and exposure to other firm characteristics lead to an expected return spread between the two factors. A cross-sectional factor is constructed in this study, which features a targeted rating, neutralizes exposure to other firm characteristics, and does not harm diversification through stock screening. The research finds strong variations in the factor alpha across time series and different data vendors, and it is negatively related to media attention for ESG and positively related to variations in media attention.

Summary: This study investigated three polymorphs of urea-barbituric acid (1:1) co-crystals to describe the dynamic character of their H-bond networks and explain the disappearance of the polar polymorph. The relative stability of each polymorph was considered in terms of NVT and NVE ensembles, and the results of computations were discussed in light of the analysis of H-bond propensities, coordination scores, and obtained experimental data. The polar form of urea-barbituric acid co-crystal can be considered one of the first known examples of a disappearing co-crystal polymorph.
