Summary: Conventional cancer diagnosis requires invasive tissue biopsy, causing severe harm to patients. Liquid biopsy, with its minimal invasiveness, has shown potential for real-time cancer diagnosis but still cannot replace tissue biopsy in most settings. This paper discusses the challenges and limitations of existing liquid biopsy instruments, as well as the opportunities and future progression of next-generation tools. Ultimately, the goal is to integrate liquid biopsy into clinical workflows and establish it as a validated and reliable tool for cancer diagnosis.

Summary: The treatment scenario for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is rapidly evolving. Ibrutinib has revolutionized CLL treatment, but long-term toxicities and resistance are concerns. Next-generation BTK inhibitors, such as acalabrutinib and zanubrutinib, have demonstrated a lower incidence of adverse events compared to ibrutinib. Reversible inhibitors have shown efficacy regardless of previous treatment and the presence of BTK mutations.

Summary: Carbon-based electrodes, like carbon fiber microelectrodes, have a long history of use in neurochemical sensing, but are limited in fabrication, flexibility, and stability. Boron-doped diamond electrodes offer improved electrochemical properties and biocompatibility, allowing for high-throughput batch fabrication and customization of electrode arrays for neurochemical sensing applications. Opportunities exist to further enhance the performance of diamond electrodes through various methods such as anodic pretreatment and waveform optimization.

Summary: Molecular diagnostics has played a crucial role in precision oncology and has undergone revolutionary developments in recent years. In most cases, it is no longer possible to select treatments for cancer patients without molecular characterization. However, there has been limited scientific research on preanalytical and analytical requirements, and standardization and quality assessment have played a marginal role in the field.
