Summary: This study discovered that sulfated fucans isolated from marine echinoderms have direct antitumoral properties, inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Unlike heparin, sulfated fucans can efficiently interact with fibronectin, reducing tumor cell spreading, and inhibit tumor growth by degrading focal adhesion kinase. These findings suggest that sulfated fucans may serve as potential alternatives to heparin for the treatment of cancer patients.

Summary: This study reveals the mechanism of how Talin and Kindlin synergistically activate integrin. By simulating the process of mechanosignaling, it is found that mild stretching enhances the binding of integrin to Talin, thereby promoting integrin activation and the formation of a stable complex.

Summary: Astragalus polysaccharide extract (APS) has been shown to significantly reduce blood pressure in hypertensive mice, reduce inflammation and renal fibrosis, and improve renal function. In addition, APS administration can alleviate the increase in serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, and uric acid levels.

Summary: This study introduced a combination therapeutic strategy for colorectal cancer by targeting the immune checkpoint LAG-3 ligand FGL1 and the immunosuppressive cytokine TGF-beta 1 simultaneously. The constructed cRGD-Exo/siMix exhibited significant anti-tumor effects by reshaping the tumor microenvironment and boosting anti-tumor immunity, providing a new approach for siRNA delivery in combined cancer immunotherapy.

Summary: In this study, the regulatory effects and mechanism of broussonin A and B on endothelial cell responses and angiogenesis were investigated. The results showed that broussonin A and B suppressed VEGF-A-stimulated endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenic responses through the regulation of cell cycle-related proteins and downstream signaling pathways. Furthermore, broussonin A and B inhibited the growth and invasion of lung and ovarian cancer cells. These findings suggest the potential pharmacological use of broussonin A and B in the regulation of angiogenesis and cancer cell growth.
