Summary: High crystalline MoO3 nanosheets were obtained through a vapor phase epitaxy method and used to fabricate a photodetector with striking photoresponse. Introducing CsPbBr3 quantum dots significantly enhanced the photocurrent of MoO3 devices, leading to high responsivity and broad spectral response from UV to visible light. The study suggests that CsPbBr3 QDs/MoO3 hybrids hold promise for broad band photodetectors and other optoelectronic devices.

Summary: Carbonaceous-magnetic composites with hierarchically porous structures were designed by spray-drying a solution containing metal/carbon precursors and a water-removal salt template. These composites showed excellent electromagnetic absorption performance, with an effective absorption bandwidth covering the X band and remarkable reduction in radar cross section. The results suggest the practical feasibility of these microwave absorbing materials for civilian and military stealth applications.

Summary: Facile solvothermal techniques were used to synthesize ZnS/1T-2H MoS2 nanocomposite with excellent adsorption-photocatalytic activity. The nanocomposite showed high removal efficiency for methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposite can be attributed to the 2D heterostructure and the formation of 1T and 2H phases.

Summary: NiFe (oxy)hydroxides have been used as strategic materials for inexpensive and efficient oxygen evolution reaction electrodes. A facile electrochemical chlorine corrosion strategy was developed for the streamlined preparation of high-performance nanosheet arrays of NiFe (oxy)hydroxides. An anion competition-adsorption effect in the anode-electrolyte interface was revealed, which greatly influenced chlorine corrosion behavior. This mechanism could be used to convert chlorine-induced electrode erosion into a useful process for electrochemical marine/saline water technology.

Summary: This report presents the synthesis of nickel diselenide nanospheres and their decoration with activated carbon using a one-step hydrothermal technique. The activated carbon-decorated electrode exhibits enhanced electrochemical performance compared to the pure nickel diselenide electrode due to the presence of more active sites, improved conductivity, and reduced diffusion path. The fabricated symmetric supercapacitor using the activated carbon-decorated electrode shows high specific capacitance, excellent cycle stability, and high specific energy and power.
