In 1995, Balzer etal. recorded a well-resolved photoelectron spectrum of the outer valence region of H2S between 12.7 and 14.5eV. The vibronic energies were identified with the aid of calculated ionisation potentials. Following on from this, vacuum ultraviolet pulsed-field ionisation spectroscopy was used by Hochlaf etal. in 2004 to record partially resolved rotational spectra of H2S+. Finally, in 2010, Han, Kang and Kim recorded rotationally resolved electronic spectra of the [GRAPHICS] transitions of H2S+ above the barrier to linearity, by use of mass-analysed threshold ionisation photo-fragment excitation spectroscopy. By making use of new high-resolution jet-cooled electronic spectra recorded in Basel, and the rotational analyses carried out in 1972 and 1983, the different methods have been linked to provide a detailed picture of the relationship between the four different types of spectroscopy.

Temperature-dependence of the UV cross section of dichlorine peroxide in the tail region of the 244 nm signal

Olfa Ferchichi, Najoua Derbel, Thibaud Cours, Alexander Alijah

Summary: The study presents a physical model to explain the dependence of UV cross section of ClOOCl on temperature in different frequency regions. This interesting behavior is attributed to the non-rigidity of the molecule and small, non-systematic variations in the absorption cross sections. The combination of these factors produces the non-trivial temperature effect observed.

Accurate Einstein coefficients for electric dipole transitions in the first negative band of N2+

Olfa Ferchichi, Najoua Derbel, Alexander Alijah, Philippe Rousselot

Summary: This paper provides accurate Einstein coefficients for electric dipole transitions between the B-2 Sigma(+)(u) and X-2 Sigma(+)(g) electronic states of N-2(+). The coefficients were obtained through high-level ab initio calculations and include relativistic corrections. Vibrationally and rotationally resolved wavefunctions and Einstein coefficients are presented in a convenient three-parameter functional form.

Summary: This study aims to provide the necessary tools to interpret N-2(+) spectra in comets. By developing a model based on laboratory data and theoretical results, the emission spectrum of N-2(+) in comet C/2016 R2 was successfully modeled. The results have important implications for our understanding of the range of N-2 abundances in comets.
