Summary: The study reviewed the development of ovarian follicles from small cortical follicles to hierarchical follicles, focusing on chicken ovarian follicles morphology and the expression of the GDF9 gene. The results showed that GDF9 gene expression plays a crucial role in follicular growth, stimulating the proliferation of granulosa cells in pre-hierarchical stages.

Summary: Follicle selection in chickens is a crucial process controlled by sex hormones, which impacts egg production. In this study, the phosphoproteomes of small yellow (SY) and F6 follicles were compared, leading to the identification of differentially phosphorylated proteins. The expression of LSD1Ser54p, a phosphorylated protein, was found to be upregulated in F6 follicles, indicating its involvement in follicle selection.

Summary: This study investigated the differential miR expression profiles in the chicken ovary using high-throughput transcriptome analyses, revealing the potential role of miRs in regulating matrix metalloproteinase expression during follicular growth and atresia. Identified miR target pairs were associated with pathways involved in MMP inhibition, axonal guidance signaling, HIF1 alpha signaling, and GP6 signaling, providing novel insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying follicle development in chickens.

Summary: The study aimed to optimize the biodiesel synthesis process using bio-synthesized CaO catalytic material from chicken egg shells. Through microwave assistance, a 95% conversion rate of chicken feather oil to chicken feather meal methyl esters was achieved. Future research will focus on engine studies related to torque, fuel consumption, and emissions using the synthesized biodiesel.

Summary: This study analyzes the epithelial origin of cumulus and granulosa cells in ovarian follicles, and identifies genes associated with epithelialization processes. The results suggest that these cells originate from the ovarian surface epithelium, and some gene expression profiles may have tumorigenic properties.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the effects of strain and age on yolk deposition and egg production. The results showed that the number of hierarchical follicles was significantly higher in the high-yield hybrid breed (Jinghong No.1) compared to the native breed (Lueyang Black-Boned chicken). The yolk weight was significantly higher in LY35 and JH75 than in JH35. These findings indicate that the rate and stability of yolk deposition play a crucial role in egg-laying performance.

Summary: The dysregulation of the preovulatory surge in egg-laying hens is associated with the hypothalamo-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis, with varying effects on plasma hormone levels and follicle ovulation based on egg production rates. Differences in thyroid hormone receptor expression and gene regulation during the preovulatory surge may contribute to the variations in steroid hormone production among hens with different egg production capacities. Further studies are needed to fully understand the role of the HPT axis in regulating ovulation and egg production rates in turkey hens.

Summary: The study reveals that the protease A-digested crude chalaza hydrolysates (CCH-As) have antifibrogenic effects on the liver of rats treated with thioacetamide (TAA). These effects are manifested through improved growth performance, reduced liver damage indices, mitigated liver inflammation, and decreased collagen deposition in the liver. The mechanism behind these effects involves changes in inflammatory/fibrogenic cytokine contents, protein expression, enzyme activities, and antioxidant capacity in the liver. Additionally, CCH-As also promote cell renewal in the liver of TAA-treated rats.
